Keep in mind that the Rtings review is for a 65" with an ADS/IPS panel. This 85" has a VA panel, so overall it will perform better than the Rtings review suggests... especially for movies.

Excellent price.

Local dimming, bright picture, 4xHDMI 2.1, solar charging remote, solid build quality.

For just $400 more, this is a better deal than the lg86 and Sony85 deals posted recently.

Frontpage worth deal.

Employee email address sign up or AAA membership and access via AAA discount portal by searching Samsung, then shop now and validate identity for access to discounted Samsung. So far appears to be the same as EPP program pricing.

Does anyone know if you need to keep the box for warranty returns/repairs?.. Big A box and tough to store it.

Side note, Best Buy has it for: $1,999.99

I was supposed to get the $1000 86' LG deal, but for just an extra $400, this is a much better buy.

I also got one with the free Samsung Care +. At first the chat rep told me I can get the Care+ for free only if I but the $120 wall mounting service. After some convincing, he did eventually agreed to just give it to me for free without buying the wall mounting service.

You will get this:
Thank you. So two years total. One thing that is covered is accidental damage. That's certainly in the language. So it sounds like it's basically upgrading the standard warranty for the first year to include accidental damage (ADH) and then adds on a year of warranty with ADH for two years total.

If you use a credit card with a 1-year extended warranty (like Chase Sapphire), does it add to the Samsung Care+ 2-year plan (totaling 3 years) or only adds to the original 1-year warranty (totaling 2 years)? If it only adds to the 1-year warranty, are you better off using the extended warranty card and buying through a cash-back site like Raku10 which gives 2% back on TVs at Samsung?
I was able to use R site, AND get extended care thru chat... Then you can pay with whatever card you want if you have one that offers another year.

Right that wasnt my question. I would like to know the distance from that Vesa mount hole to the edge of the TV. So either the top screw to the top of the TV or the lower mount hole to the bottom of the TV. Those specs are nowhere online and only someone who has the TV can check

Bought two of these and spoke to a Samsung chat rep to get the warranty for free. Only granted the warranty on one, but I figure with two identical TVs it should be straightforward if I need to use it. I used AAA to get it and frustratingly it took 2 days from signing up for AAA before it would accept my credentials and give me the discount. Thankfully the deal was still there by then, so getting AAA saved me like $1,150 when accounting for the $50 membership cost. Ordered 1/27 and have an estimated delivery of 2/2.

FYI. I signed up for AAA and bought the TV with their discount minutes later. Reading here some people had to wait for some time to access the benefits.

Yeah, there is something funny going on at rtings or best buy. I swung by best buy. All of the models looked great (including the q80b 75, didn't have a q80b 85 to look at). The q60b looked bad, and rtings rated the q60b way high for movies. The q80 looked comparable to the q70, qn85, q90, nice blacks and not washed out.
