Keep in mind that the Rtings review is for a 65" with an ADS/IPS panel. This 85" has a VA panel, so overall it will perform better than the Rtings review suggests... especially for movies.

Excellent price.

Local dimming, bright picture, 4xHDMI 2.1, solar charging remote, solid build quality.

For just $400 more, this is a better deal than the lg86 and Sony85 deals posted recently.

Frontpage worth deal.

Employee email address sign up or AAA membership and access via AAA discount portal by searching Samsung, then shop now and validate identity for access to discounted Samsung. So far appears to be the same as EPP program pricing.

Yeah, there is something funny going on at rtings or best buy. I swung by best buy. All of the models looked great (including the q80b 75, didn't have a q80b 85 to look at). The q60b looked bad, and rtings rated the q60b way high for movies. The q80 looked comparable to the q70, qn85, q90, nice blacks and not washed out.
Yeah, not sure about BB, but Rtings is in the middle of updating to their Test Bench 1.9. They've updated 30 TVs with plans for 33 more. You can click on the attached link and scroll down to the list(s).

From what I gather, Samsung has been mixing panels with no pattern and updating models to the point that no one could keep up with. The MUCH higher movie rating on the q60 than q70, q80 and qn85 should have set off a rtings red flag. Their recent Samsung reviews have been very unhelpful to consumers. And from your link that new contrast picture is a joke, it will treat bad local dimming the same as good local dimming. The checker was better.

q60 8.6 movie rating EEK! vomit , the new test methods on rtings are so bad, I am forced to go to best buy now. FWP

So frustrating trying to get the AAA discount I've seen some of you mention. Chatted with 4 reps and one of them was able to build the cart for $1399 for me by going thru AAA but there were 2 tv's in the cart, by the time I fixed it and cart/link was timing out on me. Told me to delete cookies etc. Last chat rep finally had me call sales dept who told me there is no way to get the AAA discount.

Find a friend with a student email, and have them order one for you. Get the 2 years insurance for free as well

I think so. It's one of those, if your already spending 1500, what's the extra 500, you know? That said, I'm calling AGS tomorrow to refuse my QN80B shipment, getting it refunded, and purchasing the QN90B.

The fact that an 83" LG OLED TV costs more than twice as much as this Samsung QLED TV, is the viewing difference between OLED and QLED that much? I have a 65" QLED Samsung at the moment and just ordered a 77" LG OLED B2. I guess I will see for myself soon enough.
I have the lg77 b2 and love it. What is your pick of the 2?

I just started using the lg77 b2 yesterday and it is really nice so far. Although I've read that people change the picture settings to enhance it even more. Have you done this?

Wait, so how exactly do we get the 2 years of insurance free again? Thank you thank you for the help and feedback!

Before you check out click on the chat with rep feature or whatever they call it. Tell them you have a friend who bought this TV and they were given 2 years of Samsung Care for free and you want that same deal. They might waffle for a second but mine said "let me ask my supervisor". And then immediately they gave me the deal. They ask you for your name/email and verify your address, then they send you a link that takes you to a cart with the TV and the free Samsung care in the cart. Then you just checkout as normal.
