It also comes on the news today that Naughty Dog has officially retired Uncharted as a series, so that's another IP that has a nail in the coffin.
Playstation now has Horizon and Spider-Man (and probably some others), but they'll need to get some fresh IPs going if they are going to sunset some of their old ones. Looks like Wolverine may have to take up the mantle.
It happened with Horizon: Forbidden West, and for all intents and purposes they are the same: first-party single-player GOTY candidate Sony games that had digital codes bundled with PS5s. Horizon codes was trending between $28-35 through the Christmas season, so that gives about 3-4 more months before GoW is in that same position.
This won't be on PC for at least 3 years. The last one took almost 4 years.
If you want the physical version it's already cheaper.
I think it has less to do with "wait time" and more that Sony doesn't have the capacity to push out as many PC games, but they are catching up.
Personally, I'd expect two years max, and future games will arrive even sooner. The nice thing about the wait, is that it is likely not only the superior version, but also the more complete version.

Just finished first play through. What a game, like watching a good movie. The ending is pretty epic too. Have fun.
That's surprising, I would think that Sony would want the money train rolling with 2 more GoW games 🤔
The games used to be epic. This one the majority of the time is spent watching long boring cut scenes that you can't skip or doing endless puzzles. The bosses and enemies are lame in comparison to the old games. So much is repetitive going back to the same areas because you didn't have the spear to unlock them earlier in the game.
The original Kratos was a savage. Now he does everything to try to prevent fighting. Way too much time is spent playing the bratty annoying son Atreus walking around picking fruit and ridiculous fill. End rant
Look on FB marketplace, offer up or reddit. Easily $40 or less for digital. Most under $30.
