IMO, the best deal is the two pack of 4Ah batteries for $48.

Get the fan; it's a really good deal. That's the newer model from this deal:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15951505-2-pack-ryobi-one-18v-4-0-ah-compact-battery-charger-kit-one-hybrid-fan-99-free-shipping

Except instead of 2x 4AH battery + charger for $99, it's 1x 2AH battery + charger for $30.
Gonna quote a user from that thread on runtimes (using a 4AH battery, so ~ halve them for the 2AH battery)

Since it's "hybrid", that means there's a male plug underneath where the battery goes in, so you can plug an extension cord into it and into the wall to run it off normal house outlet power.

Debating between the 14 in 40v Ryobi chainsaw and the 16 in
EDIT: I meant the 18 inch not 16, since the 18 is also on sale

Besides increased cutting, the 16in also features a chain break, but its $70 more
It will only be only for yard use and I have no other chainsaws

Has anyone tried them out and have suggestions?

I have been looking at chainsaws and the common detractor Ive seen on ryobi is that there cutting blade is shorter "usable" length relatively. So, I have held off and am opting to get bigger.

I have the 14". its ok..eats a 4ah battery quickly and they charge slowly.
if your planning to do a lot of cutting make sure you have at least 2.

Get the 18" tool only. I've got that one and it's awesome. I'll never need a gasser since I've got a few batteries. If you have 2 on the charger and 1 in the saw, you can cut all day.

Buy an extra chain so you're not forced to stop working if you dull one. Of course, don't cut into dirt and it will stay sharp a long time.

I ordered the Ryobi brushless 18 Guage nailer for $90 factory reconditioned, 15 gauge nailer blemish $120, crown stapler blemish $90, and factory reconditioned miter saw stand for $25. Shipping is free. Awesome deals.

Does DTO ever sell the battery powered Ridgid wet dry vacs? None are for sale now but I am not sure if they list "out of stock".

The 18" 40V seems to have no kit deals... so how is it best to go about getting into the 40V ecosystem? Really only interested in a chainsaw, but have no charger nor batteries. Is it best to simply wait for a kit deal?

Good question. I'd have gone with Ego tools, but my dad gave me a 40v Ryobi mower (which works great) as a housewarming gift, so I just kept with that ecosystem. I think I bought the Whisper blower (which is super good) and 18" saw on Ebay. Then a Slickdeal came up on the weedeater. So, I've got 4 tools and 3 batteries now.

There are batteries on sale here. The new 8 Ah one looks interesting, and the 12 Ah tempts me. I don't need batteries now though.

If you need a power station, it comes with 2x 6Ah ones. That's about a $200 value.
