Certainly not the best deal we've seen on this unit though I'm not quite sure what I'd expect nowadays. I've had this model for several years now and find that it does the job. Mine threw the belt early on (THD repaired) and I've not had a problem since. As with any lunchbox, you'll have to be mindful of snipe and understand its limitations.

I've never used it, but the dewalt is widely considered the top lunchbox model though I'm not sure that it's worth twice the money.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I decided to order the Rigid planer. I found mixed reviews that it's not great, but not bad. At the price, it seems like a good starter planer. Hopefully it'll arrive without issues. Fingers crossed shipping handlers don't just drop it and break something.

I had considered the Dewalt 735X, since it's so highly praised, but I can't justify paying the price even when it was on sale.

You can also make a battery adapter to power ridgid 18v cordless tools you may have using your 18v ryobi batteries instead. I have a basic ridgid 18v set of tools i got used but dont want more of them as i view ridgid as just very slightly more pro than ryobi, and not for all tools. They are all very similar in design made by tti who also makes milwaukee. I wish ryobi would sell a proper battery adapter like this but they dont. You can however easily make your own if desired. On etsy right now there is a guy selling the plastic bits to make an adaptor. I got a kit but havent put it together yet. Pretty neat. Check it out if interested. They also have a similar kit to make a ryobi 40v battery power any 18v tool. Checkout Toolboys web page on how to do that. You buy a powerwheels adaptor off amazon to start then gut an old dead ryobi battery case. Im going to do that soon as well as any 18v tool could last much longer with a 40v battery source. The voltage must be stepped down to 20v to do it. About $40 to make an adaptor. Obviously, the 40v batteries are heavy so you wouldnt want this for everything but the sitting tools for sure.
Do you have a link to the etsy listing, interested, thanks

is yours the brushless HP version or the base model ? Out of panic, I pulled the trigger on the brushless HP version for $70 versus the $54 base model. I just do basic car repairs at home every once in a while (brakes, sensors, alternator, etc)
I have the base model, and it does fine for what you listed. I've used it for the same things. You'll be fine with either. I would have gotten the HP version if the difference was only $16.

Put everything you intend to purchase in the cart then go to Checkout. The code box will be below the total price.

I only had the middle 84 kit but I will say I really liked it. I had gas but it was too much for small touch up work. I ended up actually using the ryobi for everything because it just worked well. Quiet, clean, and easy. I did not use it for heavy overgrown brush! Compared to the first kit, the hedge sweep is missing and I will say you will want that. It's worth a few bucks more. Im not sure what the real difference is between the 2 and 3rd kits. Maybe just different years? 3rd actually has a bigger battery but is less $...

years ago you could get dto deals about half price from what you pay in this deal. pre covid inflation garbage, the same stuff was much better priced. dto has also raised the prices on just about everything to be just about double as their normal price. so with this deal, you are getting stuff maybe 10 percent off their normal price from 3 years back at best.
Years ago houses were much cheaper, cars were much cheaper, life was much cheaper. LMAO

I have ended buying a lot through this deal and now I am wondering the same thing whether it is really a great deal. I think if you buy only a few small things then the free shipping definitely is nice. However, once you are spending over a hundred, the 40% is not that great compared to 50% and fixed price shipping.

We are not talking about years ago, we are talking about just last year.

For example that inflator for $36 can be had easily as recent as last year for $30 but you had to pay for shipping which in the past, ranges from 8 to $12 sometimes more. If you only want the inflator, then sure the $36 is better than 30+ shipping. However, if you ended up buying a bunch of things to make use of that shipping charge, then the $30 makes more sense.

I am between getting your version but without the battery for $60
https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...2606BTLVNM

or the $66 version with the battery (they don't offer it w/o battery). I don't really need the battery but if it is truly about the same, $6ish for a battery and charger is hard to pass up. But if your version ($84 kit or $60 no battery) is better, i would rather get the better tool since I don't need the battery.

But the inflator (Ridgid, tool only) is $30 right now with free shipping.
Ever since they have flat $15 shipping starting a year ago, they have not had any promos with reduced shipping. They also haven't had a free shipping offer since February last year.

You are talking about ridgid. I am talking about the ryobi inflator/deflator. Is the one you are talking about a handheld model?
My point is that even at $15 shipping, if everything you buy is more expensive than what it is at 50%, then eventually you will spend more at 40% off if you buy enough.
