Lived in Ukraine for 4 years and started out with heavy snow shoes. Eventually ended up with these waterproof Converses. They are fully waterproof with great mobility, and they handle a very wide range of temperatures. Incredibly versatile and comfortable shoes overall. I have gone through several pairs over the years and strongly recommend them when they go on sale, which is often.

FYI if you just loosen the laces throughout and knot the shoestring ends so they won't come out of the top grommets you can get them on/off fast and they stay on fine that way
