Ah, I understand now. I just use them at Amazon or something, which would be the same. Thanks!
My statement closing date isn't until 2/17.
I can also see Citi being Citi and just giving us just the 5% and completely ignoring that the purchase was made at a retailer in one of the top spend categories.
Only thing about paying PayPal at CVS is…..
1.) most of the employees doesn't know it exist and are confused on how it works.
2.) may not work
3.) fraud detection may be triggered (I was triggered over $200)
4.) not all CVS locations have it.
Overall, it's not simple as I thought it would be. I went to multiple CVS locations to figure it out. Obviously, I only went to CVS if they were on the way from/to a location that I was already going.
I would say…..buy it under $200 at a time. YMMV.

I'm confused, you get an extra 1% from depositing?

When I log into my account at Citi, I see that Drugstores is now the top category. I purchased a $50 Amazon gift card to test.
Looks like I will be buying some VISA gift cards.
After the $5.95 activation fee, the return is 8.87%.
Yeah, I got the fraud detection with Chase the first time I tried buying a $500 VISA gift card at CVS.
Also, people need to get familiar with the Paypal app to know which QR code to show.
There is one for paying and one for getting paid.
My earliest Paypal transaction posted on Jan. 30, and I still don't see a credit for that.

I guess I will have to buy $450 in gift cards at CVS before my statement closes 2/17 and hope that I get the 10%.
