It's the reference design card from AMD. You can get it at the AMD site for the same price right now. Makes sense to get it at MC though for easy returns or if you need a CPU as well.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but who makes this? Usually there's a partner like XFX, MSI, etc. but I don't see one listed. Is this direct from AMD?

similar in non-RT performance. not better, but better value.
but with 4070ti you get better raytracing and DLSS 3.0, if that's important to you at all.

no, and unless you're actually noticing bottlenecks with what you do, save the money for a future upgrade when you actually need it.

the only truly meaningful upgrade from a 3080 would probably be a 4090 if you want to game at 4k120 and you're not getting enough frames with a 3080.

it's not better but it's close..I think it gets better at 4k and higher res

PC Partner Group, they own Nvidia AIBs like Zotac and Inno3D. I think they also make cards for Sapphire.

I'm also looking to upgrade from 3080 and no, this isn't worth the switch. To make it worth it you need to look at the 7900xt/xtx or 4080/4090. Personally, I am probably gonna wait a generation and stick to 1440p right now.
