Had a pair of Rockport boots that I used for two years as a missionary in Japan. 2000-2002. They were still in amazing shape when I got back home. I wonder if the quality of Rockport has declined since then.

Best damn boots I've ever owned TBH. People say they've declined but honestly I haven't seen it. I had a pair years ago that died by my own fault and replaced them with the same model. They're still what I wear today and I refuse to give them up.

What's the word on their WIDE sizes from those in the know? A standard wide? EEE, 4E equivalent, etc. For example I wear Merrel wides and Under Armor wides comfortably.

Rockport like many others switched to "green" soles that disintegrate over time compared to when they were first made. They have built in obsolescence even if you don't wear them and they sit in your closet.

All of the rockports I've owned or checked out were great quality shoes. It looks like some lines have been modified and made more cheaply/less durable, but so far I haven't actually seen them. I'm tempted.
