As far as power draw at 100% load, that's how Intel pulls so far ahead on multicore performance over AMD. But that power is only used when necessary.

The 12th/13th gen IGP is faster than these, and has Quicksync for acceleration in video editing (big plus).
Youd be better off getting a 13600k or 13500 for what youre wanting to do. The 13500 is pretty ideal for you, as it has similar multithread performance as a 7700x, costs $250, has the better IGP, but is a bit weaker in gaming (which you say you dont do), also you can pair it with a cheap B660/B760/Z690 board and cheap DDR4.

Why do so many people get hung up on the power difference of the CPU's and GPU's? At the most the real world cost difference would only be $5 - $6 at most for the year and $13 under extreme circumstances at today's electricity prices when you work it out. Most people wouldn't even hit that.
7700x - 105 watt TDP
7700 - 65 watt
Difference of 40 watts, which is 0.040 kilowatts
Difference in price is $40 (currently as of this deal)
The average cost per kilowatt hour in the US is 0.16 dollars
0.04 kWh/hr x 0.16 dollars/kWh is 0.0064 dollars per hour. 40 dollars divided into 0.0064 dollar chunks is 9375 of those hours.
So if we had this CPU at max load for say 40 hours a week it would be:
$.0064 x 40 hours = $ 0.26 dollars per 40 hour week and $13.52 dollars per 52 week year. That means you hit 60 dollars in about 4.5 years.
And then you have to think do I have my CPU pegged full blast for 40 hours a week?
