I bought one of these printers full price last year and did just that.
When signing up tou have 1 to 2 weeks go use the plan promotion or you lose it..
Once signed up it'll ask you what plan you want, and you can select the most expensive, like we did.
Then a month or two before it ends just switch to a cheaper plan, that way if you forget and get charged, its not a huge loss.
