We bought this exact same model and it was a total waste of money. The plastic pieces are well made but the marble-run doesn't really work without some serious intervention.

The marbles rarely make it up through the loop using the POS launcher. When the marbles are released from the top using the gate, they almost always get stuck at the bottleneck. Extremely frustrating experience for your kids.

The most enjoyable component for them was device at the top of the ramp which plays admittedly cool theme music. Save your money.

Anyone have this? Does the setup they have as the example even work? I can't figure out how the marble would make it over the loop.

There is a launcher that the balls line up at. You can flick one at a time through the loop. It takes a little practice to get the hang of launching them up, but my 5 year old figured it out. He has had a great time dismantling it and coming up with his own courses. It is fun. My only regret is not buying two sets to have more pieces.

I bought this around Christmas time, and I wish I hadn't. I followed the instructions and built the first model, then took it apart and built the third, bigger model. As soon as I had it built, my son tore it apart. I was thinking it would be more permanent I guess. It is made to assemble, disassemble, and reassemble in different ways. As another commenter said, the launcher doesn't work very well. The loop is basically worthless, as they will never get enough speed to go around the loop. Now when my son wants to play with it, I'll just build a basic track and he's done after a few minutes anyways.

So based on these comments, I'll either love it or hate it. No middle ground lol. Think I'll pass.

Bought this, the "Ultimate" set, and the "Launch Pad" set all for Christmas gifts for my 4 and 6 year old. Got them all on decent sales before the holidays, all 3 sets were like $35 total. Kids were just playing with them this weekend. It's a cool toy but definitely buy a couple sets on sale so you can combine them.

As others have mentioned the launchers are a mixed bag. The one that shoots the ball like a cannon is very inaccurate and takes a while to figure out and even then sometimes just doesn't work right. The launchers that shoot sideways work pretty well and are a lot more consistent. Like in this set the sideways launcher will shoot the ball up the ramp.

As for the marble making it through we haven't had a problem and we are usually building on the floor on carpet. Yes sometimes they get stuck but it's mostly our own fault not fully snapping the pieces together. Speaking of you have to make sure to pull them apart correctly and not "bend" them apart. My 6 year old does a good job, my 4 year old likes just tearing them apart which does weaken the plastic and make it harder to put back together.

Overall, if you can get them on sale, I think they are worth it. The things that move and/or make sound are cool, the audio quality is surprisingly good for cheap plastic toys, and so far my kids have gotten more use out of them then I thought they would. If you end up getting multiple sets I highly suggest a rubbermaid container as it's a lot easier then the original boxes.

Any kids will have a hard time using the launcher. I'm able to get it to work about 1 out of 4 tries. My 8 year old can get it to work 1 out of 10. Seem they didn't test it. It gets worse, there's a course using the launcher that throws marble up in the air and suppose to drop into a funnel. WTF were they thinking

Weird my 4 year old has no problem using it. Sure it doesn't work everytime, but I would guess she gets it to work 1 out of 3 tries. I can get it to work almost every time. There is a certain technique that is required that is hard to put to words, basically hit it hard and firm, but not slap it or quickly if that makes any sense.

Target wasn't free shipping, they wanted $5.99 to ship. Amazon said back in stock in 1-2 months, and let me check out for $15 with Free Shipping.

Kid's birthday is in August so the time wasn't an issue.

Edit: can't read. Missed the Target Free Shipping over $35. Oh well.

Agreed with all the comments stating it's worth it for the money. I have the ultimate set and most of the designs work well enough including the launcher. Issues arise when the surface you are building it on is noticably out of level.

Don't expect Lego level quality for this price and you should be happy.
