I got one of the unlocked 256GB models when Woot had them for $299. I put it on the $5/month T-Mobile tablet plan (500MBs data for $5 exactly, no extras). I use it mostly as a tablet (have another phone) and am on Wi-Fi most of the time. But the T-Mobile is nice to have as a backup. I added my home VOIP softphone app, and it is a backup phone as well.
Also read woots page - it not says these cannot be unlocked.
I read a few posts on Reddit (yes, the bastion of knowledge) that said Microsoft had stopped giving att unlock codes for awhile and had just, as of the last couple of days, reversed course and gave them codes.
It will never happen, there aren't any left to sell. If you have a warranty issue with your Surface Duo 2, Microsoft is giving refunds because there are no units left to exchange.

I am kind of getting tempted to get this to try something different. Very little difference when I upgrade and this would definitely be trying something different and out of the norm. Price makes it tempting. I always say judge or grade a product based on the sale price you paid (not its full msrp).

Do you remember what sub? I bit at this price point.
