Backorder - lowest price I've seen so far for Crucial P3 4TB ($209.99)

Crucial P3 NVMe SSD

Basic bootup speeds won't cut it — not at work, on the go, or in the game. But the Crucial® P3 SSD is anything but basic. With NVMe™ performance that's nearly 6x faster than SATA2 and storage capacities up to 4TB3, the P3 leaves older storage technology in the dust. Get faster bootups, downloads and file transfers, and store all your files, photos, videos, apps, and games with room to spare with the quality and dependability you expect from Crucial. best price right now is on the crucial site. Use 10% coupon (google is your friend), $229, which is $20 more than the unavailable Adorama price. Debating bewteen the P3 and P3 plus for $265.
Thanks. With the 10% coupon the drives came out to $225 and $270 before tax for me. I went with the non-plus version since it'll be my secondary drive

I could see this being useful as a fast access drive to store your Steam Library, but I wouldn't recommend using it as a boot drive for the OS.

same here. Its $15 more than Adorama that is out of stock,. Best Buy wouldnt price match so I also got it from crucial.
5 year warranty from Crucial is solid. That is what made the decision between crucial P3 and teamgroup M34 which is same price, TLC and cache DRAM. Lots of comments about dead teamgroup in hte reviews.

This is funny. I have 979 evo which is similar in speed add this crucial for my boot drive and it's wicked fast enough.

For all your newbies, do NOT pay attention to comments like this.

It's still fantastic as a boot drive. Majority of NVME out there installed is this speed and slower.

Recently installed 980 pro and truly can't tell a difference.

Are you stupid or are you dumb? It's asinine to need 4TB as a boot drive. Stop spreading misinformation fvcktard.

Thanks for the advice. Can you send the link of the item you bought?

It's the 1TB WD Black SN750 SE. I bought it sometime early last year for $70 (it was on sale). I've done tests running the same games side by side with a friend. He used his stock SSD against my "slow" one and mine loaded everything and ran it just as fast. I actually got it from GameStop, but I don't see it on their site anymore. Here's an Amazon link anyways. https://a.co/d/0l38oUg

I agree, I just replaced my 500 gb laptop ssd and put it in my PS5 (January 29), so I got a warning saying my writing speed was 3500 per second and I proceed with the PS5 ssd formatting. when I moved and tested GTA V, Miles Morales, Cyber Punk and other PS5 titles everything worked like if they were installed directly on the console.

Yep. I wish people would stop spreading misinformation. I'm sure many people missed out on great deals, just because someone told them it was too slow.

Huh, didn't realize there were a few phones on the market with 1TB internal.

But they're all ~$1,000 range, so...

My PC can do PCIe 4.0 on both the primary and secondary M.2 slots, although only the first slot is controlled by the CPU while the secondary one is controlled by the X570 chipset. The MB actually has a third M.2 slot but I can't use it because it competes with SATA ports 4 & 5, which I'm using.

I recently installed a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB in the primary slot, to install and run Windows 10/11 and my most used apps. If I want to put a higher capacity stick in the secondary slot, either 2TB or 4 TB, to install apps, games and frequently accessed data on, will it make a meaningful difference if it's 4.0, or will 3.0 be fine?
"Competes with, but you don't use them 100% of the time, so you are losing out thinking you need 100% bandwith in all ports in all times."

It's not a matter of bandwidth but usability. Bandwidth isn't shared between them. One gets 100% and the other 0%, as I understand it. I.e. if I install an SSD in the 3rd M.2 slot, it disables 2 SATA ports. If and when I cross that bridge I'll decide what I'd rather do without, but that's a ways off and most likely I'll never use that 3rd slot.

What are the chances that it will actually ship, if you placed an order while it was on backorder?
