Similar deal on Amazon (for $200) but if you have Prime or Chase Freedom, you would at least get 5% cash back ($10).

EDIT: I ended up seeing a TeamGroup 4TB drive recommended when I went to buy this and figured I'd go with the Crucial, but realized I didn't see the the TBW listed anywhere. The TeamGroup has 3x the TBW (2400 vs 800) with similar speeds and warranty. Not sure if that is actually a deal breaker for anyone, but just FYI.

Huh? SSD prices have dropped dramatically, with the mid-tier 2TB PCIe 4.0 drives dropping from $250+ to $120-ish in just the last year.

Yes, the 4TB drives are dropping more slowly, because of the increased demand for them, with most people only having one or two m.2 slots on their older or cheaper motherboards, and with more people dropping spinning HDDs from their system. But they're still much cheaper than they were last year. 4TB drives were $400-500 last year.

ssd prices are going down because the semiconductor fabs are running under capacity to make chips. Whenever that happens, they start making SSD chips to keep the machinery and workers busy.
Yeah, that chip shortage was 100% manufactured and never real. Most semi companies are now laying off folks. When Samsung opened its giant leading edge fab in austin 10 years ago, it had no business so it was just making SSD chips back then too for multiple years before they got the contracts from apple etc. Looks like its SSD time again.
