One important note people.

For 120 days every night at 12 Fi will ping the SIM, if it is not inserted into the phone you bought you get 500$ charged back. You have to use the Fi SIM in the S23 you buy for entire duration of promo. Learned it the hard way.

*** Port-in of number is NOT required. This is available for both new and existing Google Fi subscribers and works for existing Google Fi numbers/lines. I have confirmed this with Fi, and it clearly states this when checking out. The mod who made this an FP put the wrong info in the OP ***

Anyone knows of a sure, painless way to get a port-out number? eBay route suggested by some seems sus as most port-out numbers listed (for around 15 bucks) are pre-paid. I cannot tell from reading the terms and conditions on Fi if a pre-paid number can qualify.

(I'd be a new Fi customer but don't have a number to port in so trying to figure that part out)

Port in is NOT required for existing customers. Checkout clearly states:

You cannot activate on an existing Fi line if port-in was required...

Sadly it's a very hard requirement. Fi servers ping every night at specific time to check if SIM is in the phone. But chat support won't tell me when exactly so iy can't be abused. I didn't know this and got 500$ charged back on Flip4 after almost 80 days of service smdh
what if i keep my phone off?

If you do not choose port in the discount is lost, period. There is no way around this option.

It most certainly IS if you want to take advantage of the full promo. If you're not an existing Fi customer and don't have a number to port in, the only promo you'd receive is a free upgrade from 256GB to 512GB.

so if i am a current Fi subscriber with a line/device on a promo that needs to be active for another 30 days, can i add this line to same account and will both promos run simultaneously without issue? i plan to terminate the other line in 30 days when its promo is satisfied.

Number Barn. you can buy a number for like $5 and port out right away; you can also check on Fi's eligibility checker to make sure its portable before you buy. I've done it many times.

I used one of my Voice numbers for the S22 promo, $3 to unlock. When you're done, port it back to your google account and continue using it for spammy/sus websites (what i use it for).

I did the dual SIM for the Fold 4 promotion. I have Google Fi SIM still installed and have my own T-Mobile number as eSIM.
I sent a chat asking for more info, they said the device ships with a physical SIM for Fi inside, so esim should work, based on what you are saying.
