Just to give you an idea, I have O365 that gives me 1TB Onedrive. On Samsung phones, there's an option to directly auto upload to Onedrive and not keep a copy in my phone storage. When you play videos on your phone, it's it streams from Onedrive.
Yep, already doing that dude. I store all of my photos on that platform. I've been doing that since my previous one was destroyed. I still like having about a Year's worth of photos on my phone at a time and it takes up a hell of a lot of storage.

Many of us are old enough to remember when most phones were "free" (as long as you signed up for a 2yr contract). It surprises me that many posters here "think" TMobile/Verizon/etc are giving you $800/$1000 trade-in-value for anything. No. It's a contract, plain and simple, even though they're all very careful not to call it that. Some may think "oh, well I'm not planning to leave TMobile, so it's fine that I get $42/mo bill credit for 2 years". Hey, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy to think you're getting a deal, cool.

For the rest of us, This GoogleFi deal for an unlocked S23 Ultra (after 120 days) is MUCH better than the carrier or Samsung direct deals, even though on the surface Samsung appears to be giving more of a trade-in-value for current devices.

Here's a simple math example:
Samsung direct S23 Ultra - $1200 - $500 (S22U trade in, storage size is irrelevant) = $700
GoogleFi S23 Ultra - $1200 - $600(discount) + $20*4 contract = $680 - No trade in required.

If you did want to trade in an S22 Ultra towards the GoogleFi deal, It would make it $320(1TB), $300(512GB), $280(256GB), $260(128GB) cheaper even still.

In either the Samsung direct or GoogleFi cases, both offer 2 year financing to split up whatever the final cost of the phone is. NOT a contract.

This seems to be better and safe option. But If you buy Fi plan, don't you have to wait for the Sim card to come in the mail before you can place an S23 order under this promo?
This deal ends in Feb 16 so you have plenty of time. Or you can just go to bestbuy and buy a google fi sim card.

Port 3 GV. Have no issue
The problem is not whether you can port, the TOS has changed from previous promotion which it state that the port number come from a provider with data service.
GV does not offer mobile data service
Fi can later claw back your promotion discount even you are able to port and the discount show up in your order.

I was told by a rep that GV is not eligible. Has one gotten a Google Voice number specifically for this sale and ported it without issue?
there is a check if your port in number is eligible during checkout. i used a fresh GV number and it cleared.

All in on google fi! Been a fi customer since sprint died, was as simple as going in the app on my phone and hitting order. Free upgrade to 512GB, S23 Ultra $599 = winning!
Do you have multiple lines in your account? When I ordered the phone there was no option to choose which line to upgrade. Do you know if picking the line to upgrade is done after receiving the phone?

You must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Numbers ported in must be from carriers that have calling, voice and data services. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible.

I have a T-Mobile legacy pay as you go SIM card I don't use anymore; it doesn't even have data, just calling and texting. Could I use that to port-in, and then activate the Fi $20+$10 data for 4 months and get the 512gb S23 Ultra for $600? Well, $720?
Yes. Technically, your sim card has pay as you go data add-on plan feature with 0MB initial data.

If I use a Tello phone number tied to a plan do I need to activate my eSIM prior to going through with this purchase?

This has been answered a few times in this thread. But it seems the consensus is to:

Just buy a port out number at numberbarn website for $7 to get the deal here then use it on any network since it's unlocked. Use that throwaway number from the numer barn as your "port" number to Google FI. Choose google Fi cheapest plan which seems to be $20 per months (so so about 80 total +taxes) Then as soon as the phone arrives, put in the google FI sim card, activate it and make a phone call. Then shut it down, pull the google fi sim card out (with the nnumber barn "fake port" numner and toss it in a drawer (Make sure you never put this sim in another device for at least 120 days.) Then you can just pop in your old whatever sim card from verizon/t mobile/*insert any carrier here* and now you can use the new S23 ultra with your old phone number and carrier like normal. Just pay for the google fi fake sim for 120 days and once the credit posts to your account, you can cancel that one.
I don't see $7 sim, all I see is 2,6,19 and unlimited.

It's not a SIM. It's just a number that you're buying with ability to port out.

Just placed order for a cream S23 Ultra. This year's promo is the almost the same as last year's S22 Ultra at Fi. Two differences:

1. This year we have a direct $600 off instead of Fi credit + discount. We save some tax dollars here.
2. Storage upgrade is the same, but this year is from 256 to 512GB vs. 128 to 256 GB in S22 Ultra.

I am a long time Fi customer and is so far satisfied with its $20/person unlimited group plan. Will stay another year at least. 120-day requirement does not bother me.
