Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Yes...
Thank you.
What phone do you use it on, if you don't mind sharing? And does it work properly where you can see the voicemails, listen to them, delete, save etc...?

As long as I keep the Fi sim in the phone can I use the secondary esim for my primary Verizon number?
Yes, you can. Several people in the S22 thread did that, although they used T-mo eSIM.

Can I trade-in a Straight Talk iphone 11? I did trade-in a few devices with Google, but every time it was unlocked devices. Wondering if they accept locked phones as well

Well, I spoke with Fi customer service via chat and they said google voice is accepted for port in with the s23 deals they have currently but I also checked and Tello n has a $6 plan with 500mb data and 100 minutes that looks to be a very good option as well considering they offer esim. I plan to probably activate a $6 plan with them via esim around the 15th and then port that number over to Fi when the phone arrives.

This was my plan as well. $6 and has voice/data. Not worth chancing the GV port to save $6 IMO

I had it on the iPhone for less than 3-4 minutes. I did place a call to a US number from Mexico as I am traveling, the call was not answered and it did not reach Voicemail. I was connected to Wifi, but don't think it was a Wifi call, can't be 100% sure though. That's basically it
Someone posted in the S22 thread a while back that when they were using the Fi SIM in a different phone they got a message from Fi (not sure via email, text or what) saying "Don't lose your promotion. Put the SIM back into its original Fi phone" (or similar wording). If you didn't get a message like that AND your countdown continues, your promotion is likely safe.

I heard Galaxy S23 series are using "Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy" which is exclusive to Samsung.
My fear is this means those CPUs are produced by Samsung itself, instead of TSMC

I see a lot about Google Fi pretty often and I've been thinking on and off about switching. How good is the actual cell service, genuinely? We have Verizon right now and pay a good price, but Fi is obviously cheaper. The reason I like Verizon is the service is just so reliable. Thoughts?

Looks like some Dutch site has review units for both S23 and S23+. https://tweakers.net/reviews/1083...laden.html

Needed to translate from Dutch to English but the battery results are interesting.

I am importing this phone to a third world country, thus, obviously not using Google Fi (even if I wanted to activate the number, I cannot, because I am not US citizen, hence no US number). What can Google do in this case? What will happen if they chargeback $500 promotion if I deactivate my bank card? I used a throwaway google account for this order.

Yes you can port in GV, but the question here is whether GV port in qualified for this promotion or not?
if you are Existing Google Fi customer than you don't need to port in, you can use existing number on S23 Ultra, i have confirmed and have CS transcript.

Tello has a text and call only plan for $5 which you can also use. Saves you a big whopping $1.

Do you have any plan to apply for US citizenship or future US Visa? If yes, these fraudulent activities could put you on US Immigration blacklist.

I don't understand what you meant by saying you can't activate the number because you don't have a US number. Anyone can buy a prepaid time card and activate a number with a prepaid company, like Tracfone, to get a phone number for port-in to Fi.
