I see a lot about Google Fi pretty often and I've been thinking on and off about switching. How good is the actual cell service, genuinely? We have Verizon right now and pay a good price, but Fi is obviously cheaper. The reason I like Verizon is the service is just so reliable. Thoughts?
Google Fi network on TMobile network. If you have good TMobile reception it is good. however, you may not get premium speed of TMobile on Google Fi.

I have a Pixel 6 on Fi. If I get the S23 and move my Fi service from the Pixel 6 to the S23, will I get the credit?

So if i become a new fi subscriber buying a fi sim at bestbuy and activating on a spare unlocked phone instead of porting a #, will I get the special promo afterwards to buy the Galaxy S23 ultra at a discount? also does the 120 days of fi service rule still apply here?
You can use the promo, yes. You still have to activate the s23 and have service for 120 days.

You can use a Fi SIM and activate with a BYOD phone to become a Fi member and use that status to do the S23 deal. Some of us (including me) used that trick to qualify for the 30-day S22 deal discussed in this thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/16215670-samsung-galaxy-s22-with-google-fi-starting-at-299?p=161429974&comm... . However, you should wait at least 48 hrs after activating the BYOD Fi SIM before ordering the S23. Some people didn't wait 48 hrs and although they were able to buy the S22 as an existing member, when they activated the SIM it was recorded that a NEW MEMBER activated the SIM and the countdown didn't start. That was a real mess and took a lot of work to get it straightened out.

Is your Pixel 6 still on some promo that it hasn't fulfilled. If not, you're OK with ordering the S23 as an existing member with an active FI line. At activation, your Pixel 6 service and billing with be transferred to the S23, and you need to stay with Fi at least 120 days to fulfill the promo.

***isn't the "rule" to NOT ask customer service? If a ton of people keep asking reps about porting GV #s for promos…isn't it more likely to bring this to upper management attention and ruin this for future promos?*** if you don't want to risk it, then find a diff way to port-in

I already have pixel 7 promo running with google fi. Can I activate a new line for s23 without getting disqualified from pixel 7 promo? If yes, do I need to stay 120 days?

Nevermind, I see you have already replied to the Similar querry.

Shows up for me in the Fi app. Check the Shop tab in the app and you should see a box that says "Up to $500 off" at the top and "Samsung Galaxy S23 (pre-order)" at the bottom.

I hear you.. but DaSuperTroopers response now have me concerned considering that their own support is giving contradicting statements.
Best Buy has Ting SIM kits for $1 that come with a $30 service credit. You can get one of those, activate it (on a plan that is less than $30/month), then port the number to Fi.

How much time do you have on the Pixel 7 promo? The S23s won't even be delivered until sometime around 2/20 and then can be activated up until around 30 days after that. You could just wait until the Pixel 7 days run, screenshot everything, and then move to the S23. I'm sitting on 15 days until my S22 time runs, at which point I will activate the S23, and I did this once before.

I have 25 days left. I wonder what is the advantage of ordering as an existing customer if you have to stay for 120 days anyway. I would rather other from another account with referral from existing account. Atleast, I can get referral bonus. What do you think?

No, I was just using the 30-day S22 thread to bring up the point about waiting 48 hrs before ordering as an existing member.
