Ordered for both of my lines, I suggest getting iPhones 111 from metropcs if you can got 2 for 260ish out of the door so making extra 150 off per phone this already slick price on new phones by trading in brand new phones lol.
Indeed. I had an iPhone 11 from Cricket that I'll be trading for this exact reason. Saves the effort/hassle of eBay completely.

Anyone know how they treat "existing" accounts that use this promotion. Will I have to stay with Fi for another 120 days, or is that only a requirement for new accounts?
In the promotion for $600 with existing account, it says "
Stay active on Fi for 120 days in a row"

For new customers, can someone remind me of how you can get this unlocked to be used with tmobile please?
All Google fi devices are unlockedout of the box, they do keep track of sim-imei when it is part of a promotional offer like this

I have an s21 ultra and the total cost after 120 days on fi would be $357.49 after trade in. Seems like the best deal on the s23 ultra at the moment, can I expect any better deals in the next few weeks/months or not?

If you don't plan on leaving your provider, no, it's not completely different.

The upfront stuff usually matters to people trying to get one over, jump ship left and right and so on. Many people have better things to do than plan out having the latest tech 24/7 by constantly trying to take advantage of various carrier deals.
Says the person on slickdeals lol

It is different. In the end you're paying the full price one way or another, and the phone is locked until the payments are done.

Setting aside the fact that your brother's Fold4 still have 60 days to fulfill, if he orders an S23 as an existing member with an active Fi Line, at activation service from his current Fi phone and its billing will be transferred to the S23. He does not need the Fi SIM from his current phone because it will not be a SIM swap. When he activates the S23 using the Fi app, it will say "Your current service is on another phone (the Fold4), do you want a transfer?". Reply YES and service & billing from the Fold4 will be transferred to the S23.

Since this promo is likely to last several more months, it's best for your brother to complete the required days for his Fold4 before ordering the S23.
Thanks for this information. I also have an existing Fi promo for the Fold4 (activated on 10/19, must remain active for 15 more days). I was strongly considering purchasing the S23 Ultra on the same line but if I lose my current promo on the Fold4 then it certainly wouldn't be worth it.

You won't lose it. You won't even have the S23U in your hands in 15 days.

right, so i just did this. my fold 4 service period ends on 16feb and i didn't want to miss this deal. i just ordered an s23 ultra w/ trading-in a cracked screen s20 fe 5g. stuff looks good so far.

i do have to maintain google fi service for 120 more days, but that's OK. another sim card to throw on the "never touch again" pile.

my fi savings page shows both promos:
- 1000 off fold 4, purchased on oct 12
- 600 off s23 ultra, purchased on feb 02

so far seems decent. let's see what happens when i actually receive the new phone. hopefully we'll get this before my plan runs out so i can activate at the optimal moment.
hey sorry to bother, but are they sending the phone trade in kit now? or are they waiting and sending it with the new device on the 17th?

You won't even get your new phone before the previous promotion expires, so you should be fine. Just make sure promotion terms completed before activating new phone. If there is any problem, you should be able to cancel the order or return new phone.

Is there any risk of google closing my account if I cancel service after 120 days?

GREATLY appreciate your response! So just to be 100% clear, ignoring the remaining days, if he orders the S23 it will come with a new FI SIM that he can use to activate the S23? He does not need the old one that he tossed out, right?

Dang. Was hoping to take advantage of this but T-maybe don't work well in my area, and Google Fi uses T-Mobile and US Cellular.

I'm sure you can. You won't have your S23 delivered perhaps on FEB 20-22.
You can always change the info of the port-in (number, account, PIN) anytime time til then.

You won't be breaking any rule/agreement if you cancel after completing the required number of days. Fi won't close your account. It's still open with no active line.
