Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I know there is some confusion on whether Google Voice numbers ported in will work with this promo, since it says the line needs talk, text and data, but wouldn't you know well within the return period if the Google Voice number gets denied the promotion?

Want to port 3 lines into Google Fi. Whats the beat route to take? I heard that each line requires their own google account. I planned on ordering 3 phones under my account. Would there be issues during activation? What's the best route to take to keep the promotions on all 3 lines?
Add the other two lines to the main line your porting over.

You MUST insert the sim in the same phone you receive for the promo time to even start.
Phone is unlocked, no matter you insert the sim or not.

If you consider a larger screen an advantage... again, user dependent.
I don't have any experience with the + variant, but I bet the 45W charging is a noteworthy advantage over the 25W in the vanilla 22/23.

Can I enter any random number, or does Google Fi send a text to verify that number? I was going to enter a random number but that won't work if Google Fi sends a text. I plan on purchasing a number on eBay but it won't be able to receive a text either. I can use my actual number as long as it doesn't lock me into actually porting it to Google Fi.
you can use any number originally but eventually the number you actually port needs to be a functional number you activate with google fi.

I'm not sure how buying on ebay works... But I've bought Ting mobile sim cards from target/best buy and activated those, then transfer over to google fi and it was pretty seemless.

This is completely different. Verizon is bill credits (aka modern day version of a contract) This is all up front.
Ehh, either way its still $1,000 for my phone that everyone else gives $120 for. lol

I don't know the terms you're referencing, but I believe the line that needs talk, text, data is the new line. Meaning no data only devices like a hotspot.

I personally ported Google Voice over for the Fold 4 promo and am almost done. No issues at all.

Anyone that actually uses their phone to record life events (birth of a child, vacation videos, etc.) 1 hour of video footage is almost nothing and will eat up storage quick even if you get the 256GB version.

512GB SD cards cost $40. "Upgrading" to higher storage tiers for these "flagship" phones costs over $200. It's a complete scam.

In my opinion these are the only 11 phones worth getting right now that has a complete feature set. (MicroSD, OIS on main camera, 3.5mm jack, 5G bands, QI charging)
The easy solution is to shoot in 1080p or 720p. On a 6" screen it's completely pointless, and even on a big TV 1080p looks plenty fine. 4K is such a gimmick that people think they need but in reality the vast majority of those same people could never tell the difference between 4K and 1080p.

Others have told me that as well... for some, I can see it as critical.

That said, as someone who uses an old 10w wireless charge at home, has a POS charger in the power port of my car, and does international travel with a couple of 5 watt wall chargers, I can only conclude that I must plan my charging cycles better than some people. It's just really rare that I would need a super fast charge.

Once i insert the sim, do i need to leave it there for a certain amount of time or can I remove the sim and put in my tmobile sim to use?

I currently have Fi with an unlocked Pixel 7. Looks like I can purchase this for $600. I would sell my Pixel and use my existing SIM card. Any issues with that?

Yeah dream on. those days of microsd and audio jacks are long gone. Good luck with these non-mainstream phones.

"but if we as consumers don't buy these phones, we will force them to bring back microsd and audio jacks". Nope, not happening. We caught a break with samsung S6 to S7 bringing back microsd. I don't think it's happening again.

but you do you.
