Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Do you have any trusted friend/co-worker/family member who can receive the shipment and activate the phone for you? I wouldn't rely on a sole rep's words on an issue that could cost me $600.

Got a pending charge from Google Services for $1.10
Got an email to activate today
Ordered 2 weeks ago, original ship date 2/17-2/20, New ship date 3/1-3/2.
These dates will probably change again.

Yes of course. Its not about missing or losing my shipment. But the one who'll collect my shipment may not open it and activate the phone on my behalf. And I am afraid if I don't activate the phone in the 30-day time I receive the shipment, I'll lose on that promo and may be charged back with $600 from Google. So Google said they'll delay/stop the shipment from Fedex side -is that doable? If yes, is it possible for Google to stop/pause the shipment for 30-days or just 14-days as Fedex allows?

When I purchased the boost number, it says it's valid for 14 days (I've never done this before). And the phone isn't coming in until March 8th


Also, I know other's here said they got a refund and a charge again for the phone...but I didn't get any charge at all yet. Though if I logged into my Google Fi account, I can see a receipt and a shipping status (March 2nd - 8th). I ordered on 2/4
