Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

update: I contacted the support, they said they can see the trade in kit is already shipped to me, which means the order is confirmed (no issues with the payment method). side note: my order page says 3/2-3/8 for shipping my 2/4 order. However, the support person mentioned that in his system it shows the shipping date as 2/28.

When I was ordering my card got declined and got a text from bank to confirm it was me who attempted purchase, after confirming purchase went through, now my concern is, could this happen again when they ship my order? I don't want to risk them canceling my order because my card was declined, is there a way I can pre approve de purchase?

I ordered on Feb 4 and got declined, got the text and confirm and made the order again same day and it went through, I already placed the order, my concern is if they will charge at the time of shipping and get declined, or am I good, since it was already approved, I will call my bank just to make sure, thanks

Your trade-in kit might be in Fi system, but it's not shipped yet. The trade-in kit is only mailed after your Fi phone has shipped.

Log into your Fi account, click on Account-->Your Plan, scroll down to where it shows Devices. Click on the trade-in phone, it'll show a USPS tracking number (from Fi to you) if it had been shipped. After USPS delivered the kit, the tracking number will change to a different number, tracking the package from you to the trade-in warehouse.

Appreciate the folks giving the info on the ship dates and purchase dates. I cancelled my original order (Feb 4th) and ordered S23 Green on Feb 6th (paypal). I still show a Feb 27- Mar 3 delivery dates.

The same phone shows Feb 17th delivery on Samsung.com so hoping that things coming a little faster than Google is estimating. I understand they aren't shipping directly from Samsung.

Not a big deal as I have a S22U from work that will get me by for now.

You already used a referral code for that account, so you can't use a referral code again.

To see if you have any Fi credit for being a referrer, log into your Fi account, click on Billing-->Fi Savings, look under Balance or Earned.
