Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

600 plus taxes (based on delivery location) + 20 plus tax and fees (based on service address) for 4 months. And that's it. You can use the phone on any carrier. It is unlocked. If it's going to be used outside of US, you might want to check the bands. But I think, these days bands are pretty standard across different countries, I might be wrong
So the s23 phone haves to be in service with the Fi sim card or do I need to put another sim card? I read people saying that you should not put the fi sim card in phone. or maybe is to not put the fi sim card in other phone or what is it

Is there anybody using Tello eSim to port? Why are so many people ordering a Hello physical sim instead?
I plan on using Tello eSim. Waiting for the phone to ship before starting the plan. But I think a lot of people have phones that don't have eSim ability or they just aren't used to using it.

After you activated the S23 with the Fi SIM that comes preinstalled in the phone, make some test calls/texts, then wait about 24 hrs and check Billing-->Fi Savings-->In progress to make sure the countdown has started. Once the countdown has started, you can remove the Fi SIM and store it away in a safe place (in case you ever need it later) but do not put it into another phone .

After the Fi SIM was removed from the S23, you can use the S23 with SIMs from other providers. Your Fi billing will continue and will be autopaid even with the Fi SIM removed. On day 121st (or after), you can cancel your Fi service as I posted earlier, and your Fi obligations are done.

You keep asking the same questions over and over.

I got my shipment date puhsed back to March 6th. So how am I supposed to port my number and activate Fi service. The promo rules said, I had to activate and port number in 30 days of my order date(which was Feb 2)? How are you guys doing it? Should I port and activate Fi without having a phone - is that allowed?

You have to activate the phone within 30 days from when Fi sends you the email that the phone was shipped .

So now I have to pay Tello for 1 more month, this is ridiculous. then I have to pay Fi. I would rather pay Fi, port my number , activate it and have the 120 day countdown start without hte phone, so I am free from Fi early...

Not my problems, and I didn't cause them either.

I have a tello esim installed now just waiting for my phone to get here. I think its the quickest option instead of waiting for a sim card.

Do you have to stick the Hello Mobile SIM in a phone and activate it before you can port the number over to Fi?
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I would recommend activating the service when you get the Sim card. I did read someone else here in this thread mention that the port failed and they had to call hello mobile, and I don't know if it is because they never activated the service or not.

If you used a referral code you could of gotten a second month of Tello for free. They give $10 for referrals. But its kinda your fault you didn't wait until you got a shipping confirmation from FI. You didn't have to activate your tello line right away. lmao
