Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Yes, there is. Log into your FI account using a computer. It's right on the front page. Click on Manage Order and it'll bring up your order details/status as a pop-up screen. Unblock pop-ups if you're blocking them. See attachments.

I found a post you made on 2/10/23 which said "Yes. Got the Sim today but phones don't get here until March. With CS trying to expedite shipment".

Did you order a SIM separately, or Fi sent you one which you did not order/request? Sometimes Fi sends people a SIM that they didn't order/request. If that's the case, just ignore that SIM.

Fedex is really like taking their time. Phone was supposed to be here on Friday, got pushed back to Saturday and still sitting at the local fedex facility. Hopefully they don't take President day off.

They want to give their internal thieves plenty of time to go through packages.

Haha. I hope you don't jinx it. Also, don't know about your fedex, but fedex around here. They don't take "required signature" very seriously. Ordered a few expensive Dell XPS in the past. They just faked my signatures and dropped it by the front door for everyone to see and take it.

Ordered 2 phones and transferring 3 lines when I get the phones

I have had the sim since Feb 10

Chatting with them ab expediting my phone's

I have to transfer all 3 at the same time or I'll be paying thru the nose with t mobile

I deleted post

I was going thru Google store instead of fi.google.com

In chat with them now

Edit:

No way to get the phones earlier.

According to CS chat, Samsung has not sent them a shipment. As soon as they get it, they'll be sending them out.

So it is not their warehouses. They just don't have the product to send out.

So far I haven't had any problems with several Fi packages delivered by FedEx (knock on wood). But I always asked the FedEx drivers to give me a minute to open the packages. The drivers complied without any protest. Some drivers made me sign for the package, some just handed it over or left at the front door.

Got my lavender yesterday, but all the shipping folks here (ups, FedEx, Amazon, usps) never ring the doorbell. In fact they seem to make an effort to not be seen by my doorbell cam and end up leaving the package out further on my porch than I want. I've been pretty lucky and nothing has happened so far, but I've always put instructions for Amazon to ring the doorbell, but why would they follow that.

I'm super tech savvy and trust me I SEARCHED for that search button here on the mobile app and couldn't find it. It's absolutely stupid to me that the mobile app doesn't have a search option within a thread because when using the website on mobile they keep pushing you to download the app.
Again, not in the mobile app. On chrome, in desktop mode.

I agree that the app doesn't have it, which is why I don't use that crappy app.

Regarding the $20 referral credit, it said I needed to activate with 30 days of signing up. It considers the "sign up" date as the date I placed my order on Feb 4th even though I'm a new member and can't activate service until I receive the phone order. Current delivery estimate for my order is March 1st-2nd, so it would be cutting it close as I wouldn't be able to activate until then (for the $600 phone promo, it says to activate within 30 days of delivery, so should have no issues for that promo).

However, I just received an email from Google Fi with subject "Don't lose your Google Fi Credit" and it says I'm about to lose the $20 referral credit because I'm not meeting the requirements. When I log in and look at the promo tracker, it shows a yellow exclamation mark and says I didn't activate the device by Dec 19th, which is odd because 30 days from Feb 4th should be March 6th or so (given Feb has 28 days). It seems like I won't be getting the $20 referral credit now? Has anyone else seen such weirdness? Thanks in advance.

Anyone who already received it and was able to port Google number?
My delivery was delayed to March, just wondering if anyone was successful using Google number as new customer port in.
