Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Update on my Hello Mobile issue. I had a family member come over and let me use their iPhone 12, and verified the line is working. It can make calls. So, that line is good. iPad worked fine with it to activate if needed. Now if my phone would get here.

Looks like things are moving. My 2/4 order of black ultra had 3/1 to 3/8 delivery. But just now it shows 2/27-2/28. No charge on the card still.

update: card got charged. no change in delivery estimate.

Mine is delivered by UPS. I tend to think the fulfillment people messed this up because the shipping label has the correct order number.

For those unfortunately getting the wrong phones - is it entirely the wrong phone complete with factory sealed packaging? So like a sealed S22U in an S22 factory box? Or is it an S22U in an S23U box? If it's the latter, that could indicate some fraud going on during shipment at some point. But if it's the former, the fulfillment center screwed up and put the wrong item in your package.

It's a brand new sealed S22U. So I think the fulfillment center screwed up.

so mine was supposed to be delivered today by UPS but tracking says delayed due to holiday. however, I just checked and UPS delivers on presidents day. so WTF. it arrived in my city Saturday morning, 6am.

Once the phone has been shipped, in your Fi account go to Account-->Your Plan-->Device(s). Click on the S23/+/U entry and it'll show the IMEI shipped.
