Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I'm in KS. My base S23 was shipped today and it's coming from Carol Stream, IL by FedEx. So did my previous Fi S22's and Pixel 7.

People on the West Coast usually get their shipments from Cucamonga and by UPS.
Nah, my base s23 was shipped from Cucamonga by FedEx on 2/16. It is taking a detour going to Casa Blanca, MN and missed its 2/19 delivery date.

After your order is shipped, in Account-->Your Plan-->Devices, click on the S23 and it'll show the model and IMEI shipped.
* If the box arrives empty or has some junk inside (someone got a car's remote), then the package was tampered with, most likely at a FedEx location or in a FedEx vehicle.
* If the IMEI matches the IMEI of the phone received, but wrong model/color, the warehouse screwed up. Someone in this forum got an S22U instead on S23U, but the IMEI of the S22U matches what's shown in the account.
* If the IMEI does not match the IMEI of the phone received, the warehouse screwed up or the content was switched somewhere along the line.
So what would you do if the there is an issue when the item you open in front of the fedex delivery person is wrong? Ask them to file a report and refuse the shipment?

PS: Does anyone have a good recommendation of a clear case that has a kickstand? I was thinking between Spiegen and Torras.

So what happened when you spoke to Google fi customer service?
Chatted with them. They say "their specialist will email me in 48 hours".

so mine was supposed to be delivered today by UPS but tracking says delayed due to holiday. however, I just checked and UPS delivers on presidents day. so WTF. it arrived in my city Saturday morning, 6am.
If it requires a signature, in my experience, UPS/FedEx avoid making an attempt under the assumption that the person may not be home. I had a FedEx Overnight Express envelop that was supposed to be delivered to day, and even though FedEx does work on President's Day, they are not going to deliver it. Even though on their own website, it says it's scheduled to be delivered today (not the first time this is happening so I didn't expect otherwise).

My S23U 512GB black ordered on Feb 1, was shipped today via FedEx (well for now it's just in the "label printed" status) from the CEVA CLS, 9050 HERMOSA AVE, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA US 91730 location--at least that's what the label shows for now. I'm in PNW. The IMEI does match what I ordered, so who knows... 🤷🏼 ♂️

Best of luck to everyone and a HUGE thank-you to all those who've posted extremely helpful info from day 1.

I'd simply tell the FedEx driver that I'm refusing the shipment. The driver might ask why, but I don't think the driver will file a report, the driver will simply mark the shipment as "Returning package to shipper". Attachment shows a package that I refused because somehow the trade-in was not included in the order. I contacted Fi support and they said to simply refuse it.

After I open the box (even if it in front of them), the fedex or UPS drivers won't take it back.

Hi all, just wanted to say I ordered on Feb 2nd, 512 S23U Black and it's just been shipped out from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and I'm in NC. Just wanted to say be patient and know they're definitely FINALLY being shipped out. I hope you all enjoy your new phones. 😁

BTW, the box is small and sealed. I would not become part of this manic fear being spread here. The IMEI is printed in tiny font on the cells case and it comes with the Google Fi chip, inside already. Please be calm, all is well. Don't worry, be happy (playing in the background)

You'll have to deal with Fi then.

That doesn't mean a thing if a thief opened the box, took out the phone, put some junk in it and carefully resealed it. I've received enough packages from Fi so I think I can tell if it was opened before delivery (the warehouse put the label over the seams), but someone who gets their first shipment from Fi might not notice that it was opened and resealed.

If you did this though, wouldn't you lose out on your deal? Or you'd ask Google to re-ship?
