Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I know definitely below question is answered, however, I couldn't find it. I went through 7-8 pages.

I have Gmail Accounts [email protected] and invited [email protected] & [email protected], so under [email protected], I see the other two accounts. I ordered Fold4 and for all the 3 Gmail accounts, the 120 Qualifications period is completed.
I ordered 3 S23 Ultra and all 3 got delivered today all 3 phones have SIM Cards. Now my question is,
  1. Is there a way to tell which Phone Number/Gmail account is associated with Which SIM?
  2. Do I have to use the New SIM or I can use the Old SIM that is sitting in the drawer?

I don't have a group plan so I don't know for sure but 1. If you go to manage plan at fi.google, com do you see a list of devices, there should be an IMEI number for each devices and maybe the account name too which you can match?
2. Always use the new SIM that came with the phones.

Ah, then I have no idea. I suppose the phone orders that you did also appears on your account together? If not you could match the serial numbers in those orders. Form what I saw, couple of people here are doing multiple devices on a group plan, they might have an idea.

Are you able to look under Manage Plan, then select a device, which then should show the IMEI # ?

I'm not a group plan user, but wonder why/how Fi system allowed one person to order multiple phones (concurrently) with discount. Don't the promo terms say one order per single-plan user, and one order per each member of a group plan? I think the correct way is for each member of a group plan to order their own phone, and each phone ordered is shown in that member's Fi account. That would eliminate the confusing situation that you're having.

Yes you can use VZW esim, People here reportedly doing that with S22. And yes, the steps you have are correct.
Thanks! So you do not have to use Fi just pay for it for 120 days? Again sorry to ask the same question again...

1] Activate Fi sim. Wait till I see counter tick down in a day or so.
2] reformat device if I so choose
3] Activate Verizon Sim for the # I want ? and or leave Fi as Physical sim and Activate Verizon as an eSim?
4] Final question... what is the best process If I want two numbers on the phone meaning Fi / Verizon? Is it better to do Fi Physical rather than eSim? Any downside to having two sims?

Thanks!

I have active Fi service on my S22 and ordered my S23 as an existing member. Got my S23 today, connected it to my home Wifi, downloaded and ran the Fi app to activate the S23. The Fi app said "Your current service is on another device. Do you want to transfer service to this (S23) phone?". I replied YES and service was transferred over immediately. It used the pre-installed physical SIM and didn't ask if I want to use the physical SIM or the eSIM. I guess if you want to use Fi on the S23's eSIM, you'll need to remove the pre-installed physical SIM before running the Fi app to activate the S23.

Has anybody figured out the pattern, able to discern why some of us who pre-ordered early are still waiting while others who ordered almost two weeks later have already received their order?

My order hasn't even progressed to 'preparing to ship' and I pre-ordered the first day or two...

Google does understand how these things are supposed to work, right?
Probably because they are not trading in a phone. The ones who ordered early are able to take advantage of the higher trade-in values. I ordered on 2/5 and it is shipping today, I'm also trading in a phone.

You would have to verify that the checkmark in the counter is done before cancelling the service. The steps you have should work but if you want to use FI on eSIM, activate using eSIM at the very beginning too. As mentioned in the comment right before to do that you might have to remove the physical SIM that the phone came with.

Has anyone else successfully ported from hello to Google Fi? I'm entering the account number found in my hello account and I'm entering the pin as the last 4 digits of the phone number and it keeps failing saying the information is wrong?

EDIT: so I just contacted hello mobile via chat and they confirmed that it was the account number and pin was the last 4 digits of the number. I told them it wasn't working and that's when they told me they had a port block on my account and that he removed it for me. I initiated the transfer again and it went through!

so the problem was a block on hello mobiles end not incorrect information. hope this helps someone else.

Google does understand how these things are supposed to work, right?
It should be mainly dependent on which model you bought, color and capacity included. I remember last year the black S22 256 GB was easy to get quickly. The green S22 256GB was backordered for months. I waited 2 months for my preorder, and so did many others. Meanwhile, the green S22 128GB version's wait time was only a few weeks.

Another factor may be how they're distributing stock to local fulfillment centers.

Have you compared your order timing to others with the same order?

Okay, so with Boost Mobile being down ( and God knows when they might be up and running .. ) I reached out to Fi support ( chat ) and explained my predicament, thereby requesting them to reset my Port-in from Boost so I could re-do it with a different carrier ( Tello )

The guy was more than happy to oblige, and I verified that resetting the port-in process ( it was stuck due to an incorrect PIN and there's absolutely NO way for me to contact or reach Boost Mobile for a port out PIN, as it stands right now ) will not remove the promo from Fi. He confirmed as such ( got the chat emailed to me, just in case.. )

He reset the port-in at his end, and I re-started the process and literally within 2 minutes I was done!! Within 5 minutes, I was able to send/receive calls and data started working as well. I also logged in to Fi and saw the number has been ported and assigned to the Fi sim! ( Pheww .. )

Now, waiting for the Fi countdown to start before I remove the Fi sim altogether!

Major kudos to the Fi support team for coming thru so efficiently!!

BTW, If you have Tello.. it was the easiest port out process! I did not have to call anyone or chat with anyone. From your account, they have a "port" section that you can click on, answer a couple of questions right there, and the site spits out ALL the info you'd need in seconds!

Unlike Boost ( where you need to call and get a 6 digit Port Out PIN ), Tello doesn't have a any such requirement. They suggest leaving it blank or using either 0000 or 000000. I used 000000 and Fi took it.

I had also only signed up with them in the last 2 hrs, since Boost is all f'd up.. I'm glad I had bought a Tello sim ( as a back up ) from Amazon!
