Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I don't understand their system. I ordered cream days before you and estimate is still 3/2-3/8. No change since.
Neither do I. Shipped from Carol Stream, IL. Arriving Sunday.

Been enjoying my S23U with a Gamevice Flex controller which allows the use of the phone without having to take off my case (Tech21 Evo Check) which fits perfectly with the appropriate shims.

The Snapdragon Gen8 2 in this phone is an absolute beast in emulation. This phone can emulate PlayStation 2 games without too much hassle and it's playable. Amazing that we can play PS2 on a phone these days but that's where tech and emulators are at now.

After porting the hello sim to fi and activating phone. Can I use other sim card from another carrier? I am thinking in colombia, south america.
Or using another sim card in the phone might disrupt the promo?
You can use other SIM after verifying activation and countdown timer has gone down by a day.

The label for mine was created 2/22 and it has on its way with delay warning since yesterday.
Mine is shipping from IL to CA(label created 2/21) and I see a delay warning too. Was supposed to deliver on Feb 27th but now it's showing Feb 28th. If you go to the detailed tracking though in the google tracking website, the delay warning is from CA hub which is like one and half hours from me, so not sure if the phone is already there or not.

If you go to your account on fi.google.com and then manage plan and then click on the device on the bottom you should see the IMEI and then use imei.info to look it up.
I just went to my Samsung account and registered using the IMEI. Correct color and storage for S23U. Warranty valid through mid May 2024.

Were you able to see if you can buy the Samsung care+ for $44.5? Many people here might get the phone after that offer is over but if we can buy the plan using IMEI then that will be nice.

Well, I got burned.. I ordered two ultras on my google account. I actived one and no problem.

Then, I activated the other ultra on my wife's Google fi account. The representative said I was only allowed to have one phone on my account. And even though I did port in a number for that phone. She said I won't get the promotion. So, I have to return the phone.

I also registered at samsung and they sent me a coupon for 40% off on accessories, is $11.99 a good price for a Samsung 25w super charger brick?

What are you guys doing for a screen protector? We got the Milomdoi ones from Amazon due to the rating today and tried them on the one phone we've received. It's now pretty obvious that may of these reviews are probably fake. This thing is terrible. The finger print sensor also doesn't work at all with it installed, despite it claiming that it does. These are going back to Amazon, but I'm not sure what else to try.

I've read good things about Dome Whitestone protectors, but then I've also read a ton of negative reviews from people who say they have used them on previous phones, but that this one is pretty bad.

So I am left with no idea what to go with. With our other two phones on the way I want to find something. I'd like something where the finger print scanner will still work, but I don't really want the cut out in the screen protector as I don't want to look at that every time I'm watching something on there. I'm really disliking these finger print readers in the screen. This works better than my Pixel, but they just seem like a terrible idea hat works poorly in general.
Do screen protector also help with cracks if dropped?

My s10+ screen cracked over a gentle drop while getting out of the car from like 30" height, and half the screen stopped working and eventually all screen stopped

Chirping in with my experience as a data point:
-- Ordered a the S23 Ultra (Green) on 2/12/2023 while it was going in-and-out of stock
-- Shipping estimate originally aimed for March 1-6, then it went back and forth a few times before shipping out on Feb 21 from Carol Stream, IL via FedEx.
-- Delivery ETA initially went from Feb 24 to Feb 23 and made it all the way to Hutchins, TX before the delivery ETA disappeared for a few hours. The delivery ETA was ultimately revised back to Feb 24, and the package arrived in the afternoon around 2:15PM. Since I was at work, the delivery driver left the package at my door since I opted out of a delivery signature. Package was as expected and nothing suspicious happened with the phone.
-- Got a Boost Mobile number from E-bay for $10. The number was sent to me via E-bay message with a phone number, account number, and PIN. The whole transaction and E-bay message took about 10 minutes in all.
-- Turned on the phone, transferred all my settings from the old phone to the new S23 Ultra, and then I downloaded the Google Fi app onto the S23 Ultra and started the port-in process using the Boost Number phone #, account #, and PIN.
-- It took a little over 2 hours for Google Fi to complete the back-end process of transferring my Boost Mobile number.
-- [Update - After a short delay, on the morning of Feb 25, my Google Fi account now reflects that I "activated the device on Feb 24" and that I "transferred a number to Fi". The count down says "Stay active on FI for 120 more days."

In all, a pretty smooth process. It was easier than I expected, and really the hardest part was just being patient and not worrying too much about the whole thing.
