Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

No you need to activate the sim come with the s23 Ultra by logging in your Fi account on the new s23. You will have the same number (activate the old line on the new phone)
So I just got my S23 today. Google did not send out any sim with this. So do I put my sim from my existing phone or were they supposed to send me a sim? Don't want to mess up the activation requirements.

Do NOT swap Fi SIMs. Check the SIM tray and see if there's a preinstalled SIM in there like most other S23 phones from Fi. If not, I think you can ask Fi to mail you a new SIM or buy one from Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

If you're an active Fi member, after you've got a Fi SIM in the S23, download and run the Fi app on the S23. It'll say your current Fi service is on another phone and ask you for the OK to transfer service from the other phone to the S23. Reply YES and it'll take care of the transfer and activation.

Have you used firefox? I am curious how you would compare brave to firefox with ublock on?
Brave is 100% based on Chrome so I would say 99.999% of websites open correctly. I don't know of any developer who would create their website for Firefox with 2.9% market share vs Chrome's 80%+ .

Also Firefox is non profit so it doesn't make enough money to maintain good devs for security compared to Brave making money.

Also Brave has crypto wallet built in. I never install any add-ons and extensions like metamask.

Once you start using Brave 0n phone and Laptop you will see how your devices are runner quieter and cooler with long battery life. On Chrome you are letting Google, Facebook, Twitter , Shopify and all other corporations run a ton of scripts when you browse most websites on earth and those use YOUR bandwidth and YOUR battery life and you have to listen to the loud fans or deal with hot phone. With brave my phone is as cool as ice lol. Just don't opt in Brave Rewards if you don't want to see the 2 ads per hour and earn free BAT cryptocurrency (I've earned approx $680 in BAT since 2018 but it was much higher in 2021 but cryptocurrency crashed).

Got my S23 Ultra, 512gb, Black from Fedex today. Sealed and all was good. I recorded getting it from Fedex and all. It's now activated and works. Transferred my # from Hello Mobile with no issues, and very quickly (under a minute). I had them unlock it ahead of time.
Now I wait till tomorrow to pull the sim out and reset it after verifying on the website it has all the checkmarks and the countdown was started. Smilie

Is anyone having issues porting over a Boost number obtained from eBay? I've been having issues for the last couple of days. Seller insists that it's a Fi issue.

It comes pre-installed. If you were expecting a loose sim in the box, you won't find it. Take the sim extractor that came in the box and confirm if you have one or not. It could be defective if in fact you have one in the phone.

Bought mine from eBay seller frady403farhan. This seller has only sold a little under 100, including 13 in the last 24 hours including to me. There are a couple other Sellers that are over a thousand sold. Since I'm cheap I went with the $9.99 option that this Seller offered. The account I bought came up as from Sprint, which gave me pause. But another buyer confirmed theirs showed Sprint as well. It took about three hours for my port to go through.

I got one from mobilemonkey... It's failed every time that I've tried to port it, complaining that the information doesn't match - which it does, I've checked, changed, and cut and pasted.

Of course, I tried again just after my original post, and the transfer is still "In progress". This is the longest that it's gone - it usually fails within about 5 mins, so I've keeping my fingers crossed this time.

Much appreciated. Looks like it was in there. I don't think that was the case when I got my Pixel couple years ago (or maybe I remember wrong). In any case I transferred over to the new phone. Repped for the expertise.

Glad to hear you got it done. The Fi S22 and S23 that I got came with the SIM preinstalled. The Fi Pixel 7 came without a physical SIM, most people activated it using eSIM.

I received my S23 yesterday. I was able to activate it but 2 hours later I got the "No SIM/Emergency calls only" message. I swaped different SIM cards (ATT, T-Mobile,...). Same error. I contacted Google Fi support and...they asked me to order a new Google Fi SIM card... Nonsense. Obviously, the phone is defective.
Unfortunately, I don't see any options on Google Fi website to request a replacement. I can return the phone but I will have to forgo this good deal.

FWIW, USPS tracking has been very screwy lately. I mailed a Pixel 7 on Monday, tracking showed it was accepted and arrived at the regional center in Kansas City that night but not updated after that. Thursday morning, it shows arriving in NC and was out for delivery.

My trade-in package to Fi was out for delivery on Monday 2/27 and finally shows Delivered on 3/2, while it fact the warehouse received it on 2/28 and credited on 3/1.
Thanks for sharing that information. Gives me a little relief, but Im still very skeptical because there isn't any movement at all. All that shows up is that I dropped it off. I went back to where I dropped it off and the clerk said they don't keep mail there and they only see the same information I see on the tracking website.

Its supposed to ship to Tennessee, which is only 2 hours away maxium.

512GB cream s23u delivered earlier today. It's mf'ing beautiful. Didn't port yet or turn it on as I will likely do it all tomorrow. Since I have a s21FE, I assume I can just transfer easily and quickly using Samsung smart switch and a cable...

Btw for anyone who might be porting in a number from Xfinity mobile, all you have to do is request the pin from their mobile online site and its good for 5 days.
