Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Have you checked with Fi support? I haven't read of any trade-in package that actually got lost once it got to the Nashville Distribution Center. They might show as Moving Through Network perpetually, but the warehouse actually gets it eventually.
Last Friday the status was Arrived at Post Office. I am assuming that it would get delivered wtihin the day today. Will check the status tomorrow and the day after and then reach out to them. Dont understand why the status keeps flipping because its usually based on the package being scanned yeah.

I don't know about your case. Are you using your Fi SIM in another phone?

I activated my Fi S23 on Feb 23, removed the Fi SIM on Feb 25, reset the phone, put my Tracfone SIM into it and the counter is still counting down everyday. Other people removed the Fi SIM from their S23 and use another provider's SIM in their S23 without problems.
Oh I see ! I put cricket mobile sim and some thing got updated on the phone after putting in cricket sim. and counter stopped and got the warning email

You didn't answer whether or not you put the Fi SIM into another phone. Using the Fi SIM that came with the S23 in another phone is a definite No-No. Using another provider's SIM in the S23 is fine. Other people and myself did it.

Delete the Fi app because it seems to "call home" when you're online (via Data or Wifi") and "tattles". The Fi app is not needed after it was used to activate the phone with Fi.

That solves the mystery and your reason for getting the warning. As far as using another provider's SIM in the S23, that's not a problem.

What a delightful experience sending my trade in to Google. It was sent via USPS with the label they provided, and they received it within a week. I got two emails today one telling me that they received it, and the other telling me about the credit.

The iPhone 11 that I traded in was only a few months old as I purchased it as a holiday deal for 199 from Walmart, I believe it was a total by Verizon phone. I thought the trade in value was going to be $310, yet they are giving me $410. Anyone else get more than the original stated trade-in value?

Hi XX,
Great news! We've had a look at your phone, and its value matches or is more than the original estimate.
You'll receive a total of $410.00 in credit.
We'll issue credit on your Google Fi statement (or on your credit card if applicable).

I've read posts from people who sent in a phone with cracked screen or back cover but got credited for a phone without damages. Yours is the first undamaged phone that got more than its estimated value that I read about.

So it appears that I only got $300 back to my credit card I'm guessing that's because it is what I paid for the S23 (not the plus or Ultra). The rest is a credit on my Fi account of $110. Aside from paying for the 4 months of service required, what can I do with any extra credit at Google Fi?

Below is what I now see in my Fi account regarding the trade in.

$299.99
Refund issued to Mastercard-xxxx
May take 2-3 days to appear on your statement
$110.01
Fi credit received
Applies to your monthly statement
$110.01 remaining
$0.00 used
Reported Condition
$310.00 estimated value
iPhone 11 (64 GB)
Turns on, screen intact, factory reset
The device's condition is different from what you reported, so we've credited you the updated value.

The max refund amount to your credit card is what you paid for the phone (before taxes). Any excess goes to your Fi credit. Trade-in credit can be used for a few things besides paying for Fi service. https://support.google.com/fi/ans...9364?hl=en
