Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Has anyone ever pleaded a case to Fi to be able to use your Sim in another phone? Maybe your phone isn't working right, or you need to send to Samsung for support? I am migrating to Iphone and still have 58 days left.

Once we go past day zero when it hits it on the promotion, we should be good to disconnect the plan/service/line correct?

I received the same email. Good news.
My counter isn't working in the Fi app. I'll give it a couple of days before contacting them again bc the app sometimes lags by a day or two or that might be a separate issue they're working on. It's still shows invalidated on 4-21, but email says that's an error.
Have you seen any update on this? My counter still isn't working and when I log into my account, it still says the rebate didn't work out. I'm going to reach out to them again, but I just haven't had time to do it yet.

Contacted them a couple of days ago about it. Received a reply stating the specialist is looking into it. It would be interesting to see if you get the same reply. We might all be in the same boat, to those of us this happened to.

The countdown will never say zero day. On the 120th day, it will stay at "1 more day". On the morning of the 121st day, the countdown should say "Stayed (past tense) active on Fi for 120 days in a row". Then later in the day, the In Progress column disappears, and the promo discount gets moved to the Earned column. At that time or later, it's safe to cancel your Fi service. See attachments from my S22 deal.

I contacted them via chat today. I'd previously had one of the supervisors I spoke to send me an email summarizing our conversation. The chat representative basically told me that my only option was to respond to that email and ask them to look into it. They were unwilling to help with anything else. I responded to that email today. We'll see if anything happens.

Wow, what a deal.. I missed out on. Disabled, limited income, my note10+ 512gb has major issues.. It has 512 GB card, so 1 TB.. Hard to upgrade from that..

Is this deal really dead, or rather from reading, was a Google fi scam?
all of you guys had an alert for Galaxy S23 Ultra?

Is pausing the same as disconnect service? I only see pause option. I did a different Google fi for s22. I'm already past 120 days. Is porting out the only way to cancel/disconnect?

Pausing only puts your Fi service on hold, it does not disconnect service. To disconnect, in your Fi account go to Account-->Your Plan, scroll down and select "Leave Google Fi". It'll give you options on what to do with your Fi number:
1. Let it go permanently. Service will be terminated immediately. If you have any refundable credit (trade-in credit, remaining days that were paid with a credit card, etc), it will be refunded after two more billing cycles.
2. Port out: service is not terminated until the number has been actually ported out.

If I have remaining Fi credit from referral (not refundable), then after meeting the terms I put my service in Pause, in case there will be another Fi deal later. If I have refundable credit (from trade-in), then I cancel my Fi service to get a refund after two billing cycles.

Has anyone ported the Fi number back to Google voice?

I ported a GV number to Fi for a different promo. Received all the credit and met the terms for discount.

Now I want to port the Fi number back to GV and it's asking me to pay $20 to port in. I gathered from previous comments that numbers could be ported from Fi to GV & back without fees.

Did you get a reply? I received an email that my case has been resolved. I checked my google account, the $600 charge for the invalidated rebate was reversed and I have a zero balance again. The counter in the fi app still hasn't been fixed. I sent a follow up email about that.
