AFAIK lowest price ever on an already-great value product:

Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Tellicherry Black Pepper, Whole Peppercorn, 16 Ounces [amazon.com]
Amazon Prime Price $7.42 -Now $7.57
Select Recurring Delivery to drop price to $7.05 -Now $7.19
(Cancel recurring delivery at any time)

I've used this brand for a long time. Good quality and value.

I really don't recommend this brand. Bought them about a year ago. They had wonderful aroma but no flavor.
I definitely go through this amount in less than a year
Whole peppercorn lasts forever. Just finishing up a Costco batch from 10 years ago. It was a major global trade product in Columbus' time when transporting from south east Asia to Europe can take a year.

Thanks for the info. I guess that's where the spice route came from.

You're right - they never go bad really. But they do start to lose their flavor after about 5 years or so.

Tellicherry(Thalaserry) is a place from Kerala, India known for it's Spice trade from 17th Century. Idk if the product has anything to do with that place.
