I've read that my fellow SD-ers don't care for carrier promotions. Okay, but this one is good.

I've been on T-Mobile for years, and I've had good experience with them, although YMMV. If you're on their Magenta Max plan, as I am, or are willing to switch to that plan, here's the deal:

$1,379.99 Galaxy S23 Ultra, 512GB, full price
(180.00) Samsung's current promo of 512GB for the price of 256GB
-------------
$1,199.99 T-Mo's price for the phone
(1,000.00) T-Mo's current trade-in promotion for my Galaxy S21+ 5G
-------------
199.99 which must be paid in 24 monthly instalments of $8.34
========

Older phones get less than $1,000 trade-in.

Depending on your state, you'll have to pay tax on $1,199.99 up front. Also, T-Mo charges a $35 upgrade fee (taxable) which is pure BS, so I'm going to try to get it back.

Caveats:
1- Have to be okay with a carrier-locked phone, at least until it's paid for.
2- Have to be okay with T-Mobile. (Verizon has a similar deal.)
3- Have to be on their Magenta Max plan. I'm on MM 55+. (Membership has its privileges. Smilie)
4- Only recent phones qualify for $1,000 trade-in.

And also this ...

5- Have to be okay with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Not everyone is impressed by it.

TBH, I don't really need all that the S23 Ultra offers, but for $200, WTH. And it will assure me of a top-dollar trade-in for the next phone.

Considering Google Fi uses the T-Mobile network that I have now, I think Google Fi has the better deal.

They are offering the s23 ultra with free memory upgrade for 600 bucks. I have an S21 that they'll give me $270 trade-in value.

So if I change the Google Fi, I get the ultra 512 GB for 330 bucks.

Look friends ... if you don't like T-Mo, don't like Magenta Max, don't like keeping a phone for 24 months ... that's fine. In that case, my post is not intended for you, and you don't have to reply. But I didn't post anything dishonest or misleading or insulting, so I haven't earned the hate.
Good chunk of people are on Magenta Max. This is not the best deal, but best for now. Am I gonna buy it? Most likely no. But shitting on this deal and saying it's 24-months bill credits or it requires trade-in is getting old.

No company ( in the business of making profit ) going to give the phones away for free without strings attached. Some people need to grow up.

I posted the same in detail (Page #3) earlier. We can't satisfy all and there is always someone who isn't happy with any deal posted here.

Unfortunately, it is what it is.

Anyone having issue where pre ordering from? Samsung at the tmobile verification would error stating the account type was not supported on samsung.com? Tmobile and Samsung both cannot figure out way I'm getting the error and they are pointing fingers at each other.
I had this same issue. I talked to TMobile customer service to see if my account was marked as a business or government account and it ended up being marked as business. They're changing it for me so I can order. Have them check for you too.

Like most of TMobile deals i don't like this one. Forcing you to switch to a higher price plan in order to get a discounted phone is for their benefit, not ours. So i will continue to ignore T-Mobile deals such as this one.
you're exactly right, I'm on tmobile one plan, 12 lines for 320 bucks..with this plan though I currently get 0 phone deals now

The memory upgrade is in that price, or the total would be higher. With your trade in you wouldn't be paying just 200 extra over the 24 months. You would pay $430 over the 24 months, because you are getting the $230 credit up front. That means you get that up front, but now it is balanced off by an extra $230/24 per month less later. You would pay just 8.33 if your trade in value was $0, and the full $1000 was the credits. But any which way, it all comes out to be $1000 (plus giving up the old phone).
Actually, you are right, the price is with the free memory upgrade, and I wouldn't be paying more. So we just have to add up the monthly payment by us and the billing credits, use the one time credits to payoff the bill or adjust.

don't let the hater rub off on you. i'm on the max plan and paid $140 total a month with includes 5 lines. i'm about to trade in an OnePlus 8 5g for a S23 ultra. the OnePlus qualifies for the $800 credit. No bad at all

Do the same deal on samsung.com, you'll get Samsung credits on top of this. You can select T-Mobile financing on Magenta Max, everything happens through T-Mobile including trade in. You just get credits on top of this
did you have issue ordering this on Samsung.com? they are asking me for a $400+ deposit. Thats F@#$# up.

Mine went through pretty smoothy, except for that mandatory $120 credit 'use it or lose it' thing.

Oh and yeah, what's with $400 deposit? I still went with it since in the end numbers will add up but I was expecting $200 + $80 (tax)

Caveat #6: the $1000 credit is distributed across *3 years*. This means you have to keep the phone for 36 months in order to get the full $1000 credit ($27.78/mo for 36 months)
Also if you plan on upgrading to the next s24 ultra next year, the balance on the current phone (s23 ultra) will be on us (credits will stop).

How is this compared to Best Buy? I can see they are offering $100 BB credits, could be more useful than Samsung's $120, and nothing when we buy from T-Mobile directly.

I had a long chat with T-Mobile representative yesterday. Not phone but chat. Basically told them I was going to switch to Google Fi because they had to kill a deal.

We have two Galaxy S21 5G phones. According to the literature, we should only be getting an $800 trade-in value.

T-Mobile reps were pretty insistent that they were going to give 1,000 trade-in value for the ultra 512 GB. That's 200 bucks more than what the promotion stated.

Phone payments would be $10.70 per month for 24 months for each phone.

The only caveat is I'd have to upgrade to either the magenta Max plan (I would do magenta Max military for 140 bucks), or keep the magenta military and just plus up two lines and the plus up for 15 bucks a month per line gives the same benefits as the max plan.

As long as T-Mobile did not make a mistake, and I think telling them I was going to leave allowed them to give me an extra $200 reduction, I think I'm going to jump on the deal.

I crunched all the numbers across a 24-month period for the T-Mobile option, and the Google Fi option.

For me personally, because I'd have to pay off One of the other phones on our plan and lose the monthly payments by T-Mobile, and considering I'd have to buy my own Netflix UHD plan if I left T-Mobile, sticking with T-Mobile and doing the plus up on two lines Will cost $12 per month more than the Google Fi option.

The $12 a month is probably worth it considering we have T-Mobile stores in case the family members have issues. Plus... That $12 a month gives us streaming benefits on the mobile network such as HD streaming, loads and loads of hotspot, that the Google Fi simply unlimited plan would not provide.

For most other people, the Google Fi deal is better If they have a recent phone.

I jumped on this deal.

Even though online info states $800 for the Galaxy S21, I received $1,000 credit for each S21.

I did have to upgrade my plan to magenta Max military. And I'll keep it that way for 2 years.

So for me, my plan is now $140 plus $6 for Netflix UHD. And now we get Apple TV plus for free.

I was paying 112 a month with the Netflix UHD plan for the magenta military 4 phones.

When all was said and done, based on my calculations, I am paying $8.75 a month extra to stay with T-Mobile compared to going to the Google Fi plan. But at least with the T-Mobile plan, we're getting up to 4K streaming on the devices instead of 480p, And now we can make HD quality a video calls T-Mobile network.
