I bought these Apple gc at Target so many times without problem although I heard people's story all over. Finally today it's happened to me and I'm out of $200 that I can't get back.
I opened 1 of them right in the store to load them to Apple account. Doesn't work. Go to Customer Service. They told me to fk off and call apple basically. Because of their "policy". No refund no support. No matter what I say
I opened the other 3 in front of them (all $50). All does not work. They see it. And keep saying the same thing, even rude to me, like nothing's gonna happen. Basically they're fine with selling you shit they know doesn't work (they see it with their eyes - its not like i went home and redeem them - I opened in front of them). And they said without flinching it's not their responsibility and tell me to call Apple - which I'm 100% sure Apple will tell me to call Target.
I knew their was a scam going on, but I expected Target to stand behind what they sell, especially if I open the gc right in front of them. Kayla from Target, I hope you will get what coming to you for what you said to me today. See how you like when you bought $200 of product from a store that is broken right after the register and the store refuse to do anything about it. Gotta warn people that Target won't support you. Apple will be even less likely.
*Update: called apple, provided them the serial of both the sleeves and the inside cards. A customer service agent confirmed that the sleeve was indeed loaded money and the card inside was different and does not match. The money was also still there. She blocked the card associated with the sleeve so the scammer can't get the money. Then her supervisor take over, tell me to send receipts and photos and such, thought i was going to get a refund but then he said nope, this is target fault, go back to target, they have the money we don't have the money, although i already told him target won't help. He told me to contact Target Corporate (WTF ? how ?). I told him the money is in the gc that I purchased and activated, they just have to load that to my apple account. He said i dont' get it, then the call disconnected.
So 2 big corporation stiffled $200 out of me today, in the USA. unbelievable.
So people need to be aware that you're taking a gamble with this: If you got scammed, they WON"T support you. YOU WILL LOSE the money.
Are you using a redcard? If so, check your credit limit because I've had orders cancelled in the past because I was over my credit limit.
Regarding purchasing them right after the other, I did purchase most of them right after the other and did not have any of my orders cancelled.
Thanks. No red card, but I'm guessing it was either an issue with my credit card canceling orders or maybe suspicion from ordering through the urlhasbeenblocked app.
So just to clarify, you were able to buy multiple online with the free $5 via the same Target account? Past deals enforced a limit of 1 online, but this one doesn't have those written terms.
Back when the M1 Airs first dropped I bought about 12 of the $100 Apple / $10 Target GC deals online without any issue.
Anyone has their status stuck at 'preparing'? I've been waiting for 30 minutes.
Update: Successfully purchased $950 worth of them. Sometimes orders get cancelled instantly but you just have to wait some time (between 30minutes - 12 hours) and you can start ordering a bunch of them again. Apple blocked my Apple ID from online ordering using account balance because I redeemed lots of gift cards. A call to the sales rep resolved the issue (took 2-3 hours to wait for an update email). Hope this is helpful

I could understand how adding 19 $50's back-to-back would raise a red flag in their system. Were you using the Apple Store app or website? How were you notified of the block? Did the Apple rep indicate to you if adding them to your balance more slowly would have avoided the issue?

Any tips on how to successfully purchase dozens of these GCs? I see the wait :30-12:00 suggestion but I'm on a terrible instant cancellation streak going on 24 hours. I've tried waiting several hours between purchases, using VPN, log out/in and no luck. Thanks
