So any Verizon based MVNO unlocks after 60 days. (The reason this occurs is Verizon bought 700 MHz C block of radio frequencies in 2007 and the FCC at the time put rules on it that were customer focused and this was the net result.)

It is a little different between Android and iPhones but the experience is painless. I did this in April 2022 from a Feb 2022 similar deal.

=====

Now let's look at phone band frequencies this phone can do.

4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43
5G bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28, 38, 41, 77, 78 SA/NSA
Speed HSPA, LTE-A, 5G
And per the T-Mobile website they use these frequency bands so you will want to match the list below to the list above.
Extended Range (XR) 5G:
Band n71 (600 MHz)

Ultra Capacity (UC) 5G
Band n41 (2.5 GHz)
Band n258 (24 GHz)
Band n260 (39 GHz)
Band n261 (28 GHz)
Important tech stuff, band n41 is useful but band n258, n260, and n261 are not. This is because 25, 28, 39 ghz are unable to penetrate buildings, have a real short range, and even things like a tree with just leaves can block this line of sight.
yet frequency band that are 2.5 ghz well that is useful and will have similar building penetration such as indoor wifi. Yet the 600/700/1700/1900/2100 mhz are even better at penetrating buildings and indoor walls. Stuff in the 600 to 800 mhz range is the best at penetrating walls.

Extended Range 4G LTE
Band 12 (700 MHz)
Band 71 (600 MHz)

4G LTE
Band 2 (1900 MHz)
Band 5 (850 MHz)
Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz)
Band 66 (Extension of band 4 on 1700/2100 MHz).

So while this phone is 5g capable it does not have the phone band radio frequencies that T-Mobile uses for 5g, it will be a 4g phone only on T-Mobile. You want band n71 even if n41 provides some 5g.
retail model (6GB RAM, 256GB storage) is different from carrier models (4GB RAM, 64GB storage)
Seems like a solid deal, but where is the $407.63 retail price coming from? It looks to me like this is regularly $199.99.

RRP on the Moto G 5G is $399 so the number is correct. However as you say, it normally goes for much less, and is $199 on the Moto website and elsewhere at the moment.

$199 for the phone
$125 for the 1500/1500/1.5G
~ $83 for the case and the stand and the car charger

You are getting the phone at about 1/2 price and getting the year of service for $0 with some minutes and texts and data thrown in

$199 for just the phone

this includes the 1 year of service with 1500/1500/1.5GB which is normally $125

It's for the whole year, starting from the day of activation.

If you are new to Tracfone be sure to sign up for the Tracfone rewards! You get a valid referral code to sign up for a nice bonus. This can be used to buy air time, get phone discounts or add extra data/ texts/ minutes, etc.

Activate the phone first, then sign up for rewards. Remember to enter a Promo Code (ask for it) within 14 days after signing up for rewards.

The 12 months can easily be extended to 18-21 months if you get referred and redeem the points for service plans. Also, you can earn points on the rewards website by answering polls, social media posts. I just click the FB logo, and don't post but still get the points.

60 days. tfwunlockpolicy.com

Minor nitpick w the title, this display is 720p, which is only HD, FHD is 1080p+.
