AMD CEO stated in a investor meeting they are undershipping GPU since the last 2 quarters to maintain the high prices. So probably won't see prices decreases, probably the best value deal if you don't mind AMD

PS5 and Xbox definitely best value if you are only gaming, but I am unable to work from a console.

Yes I read an article about that earlier and I can't believe she just...admitted it. Anyways I pulled the trigger on this because I can't find an ETA on the midrange 7000XTs and I'm betting the 6800XT will be more bang for the buck anyway. I also don't care about ray tracing.

I don't think you will regret it, I bought a 6800 XT bought last year. Minus ray tracing the NVidia equivalent would be the 3080, but that is outrageously priced with a 200 USD plus price difference for 10GB 3080 vs 16 GB 6800 XT.

Man! And I bought an RX 6700 bc I was upset that Nvidia did that. And now THEY do it too! I also just bought an Arc 770, I guess I'll be keeping it and returning the AMD.

Same here. I was looking for ETA on 7800 or 7700 but all I could find it that the cards suppose to be underwhelming but no release date. I think this is the best price right now for 6800 XT along side with the PowerColor on Amazon. I prefer Sapphire over PowerColor from personal experience so I was hesitant to pull the trigger on the Red Dragon but surely did pull the trigger today thanks to OP.

I've actually got that Powercolor from Amazon on order with an ETA of 2/15 or so and this Sapphire on order as a backup. I'll cancel whichever one doesn't ship first. LMAO

I have no money to spend on these high price graphic card. I remember I paid over $300 for a 30G spinning disk hard drive before and thought it would last me a few years. I don't remember what year. But 30G was the highest capacity at that time.

You are paying R&D cost for these. When the market is saturated, nobody want them, you'll see the price drop significantly.

That is very nice of you to comfort people by explaining corporate shafting is normal and all...
At this point we all know that the prices are artificial and both major companies are using supply chain tricks to keep the pricing high.
But thank you for explaining that this has been going on since the 80's...
These are die shrinks, not new architecture, the core of the technology was created in the 70's. So what you are paying for is corporate promises of ROI to their stock holders.

How exactly is the market going to get saturated when both Nvidia and Amd are manipulating inventory to keep prices up?

Also, 6800xt around $500 seems to be the best value for high fps 1440p gaming.

Kinda, you have pay 100 plus for PS+ or XBL annually required for multiplayer, then other miscellaneous stuff like a extra 70USD MSRP ps5 controller, eventually new NVME drive with bigger capacity so a console gamer will easily match or even exceed a gaming pc over the lifetime of the console.

The only real advantage I see is ease of use, uniformity so optimization will be better, and player count in multiplayer games compared to PC.

TSMC and Samsung also raising prices for fab capacity gets passed on to the end customer.
