Do these types of bulbs wear/burn out so often that you need a 24-pack to replace the bulbs in a string light set? If not, it seems like the electrical cord will wear out long before you run out of these!

varies and rebranded, some do burn out faster then others and/or the outer part pops off

note that there are 1w and 2w versions of these lights.

the 2w version is generally around $1/light, so this is on par being 1w for about .50c/light.

These should last at least a few years. If you're looking for longevity, one main thing to look for is how much power they're pushing through the LEDs. Heat is the biggest threat to LED lifespan. This is a pretty short LED filament and they're pushing 1w through them which is a little much.

If this same bulb had two of those filaments and still only consumed 1w total, .5w per filament, then they would last a whole lot longer.

A good rule of thumb is to look for bulbs with >100 lumens per watt.
