Says "Offer not valid on third-party delivery services"
Some interesting facts.
I noticed Pizza Hut and Jet's pizza are coded as Merchant = Restaurants while Domino's is Fast Food.
In that case, if I want a pizza and the $5 rebate, I should order from Jet's or Pizza Hut but not Domino's

These are the others I have from my previous statements that are Merchant = Fast Food
Arby's
Chipotle
McDonald's
Wendy's
Firehouse Subs
Subway
Jimmy John's
Panda Express
Jersey Mike's
Shake Shack
McAlister Deli
Boston Market
Burger King
Panera Bread
Krispy Kreme
Popeyes
This offer was available under my debit card and Amazon prime card

Great find, 4 out of 7 cards have it.
I wonder if it works in restaurants that use the Clover payment system. From my experience, restaurant deals don't work when they use Clover.

It's all a function of the merchant code. No way to tell unless you know a specific place.

2/4

And it was fairly easy to pinpoint their criteria. I received the offer on the two cards that otherwise didn't have any restaurant offers that I had activated. That would have triggered stacking. For example, one of the cards without this $5 offer already had a 15% Arbys offer.

I checked the spend categories on my Chase cards. Once they post I don't see anything that says Restaurants. That term is not even on the scroll when I click the downward arrow and look at the 12 or 15 categories. All the restaurant activity including fast food is categorized as Food and Drink.

Offer Details
Earn $5 back on your Restaurants purchase when you spend $10 or more.

Eat in or dine out & earn $5 cash back fro
m Chase!

Offer expires 2/28/2023. Offer valid one time only. Payment must be made directly with the merchant. Offer not valid on third-party delivery services. Payment must be made on or before offer expiration date. Must make payment directly with the merchant. $5 cash back will be processed within 14 business days of your purchase. The merchant must be classified as a restaurant for purposes of this offer to qualify. Purchases may not qualify if they are charged by a merchant other than the restaurant. Some merchants that sell food do not qualify, such as candy stores, nut stores, confectionery stores, dairy product stores, bakeries, delis, beer/wine/liquor stores, and butchers. Food delivery merchants will qualify if they classify as a restaurant. Chase cannot guarantee the delivery of alerts for this offer.
What is the difference between third-party delivery services and food delivery merchants? Uber Eats codes as Food & Drinks (like other restaurants) on my CSR.

split the bill and pay with multiple cards. can be used only 1 time per card.

I have it on 5/8 cards. $25 off $50 bill is nice.

Most of them do but I've had a few that classify as 'grocery' or 'catering' and didn't trigger the extra cashback on my card for restaurants.

Any tips on how to make a payment with checking / savings account to a restaurant directly to qualify for this promo? Security wise, is it even advisable to make such a payment thru a bank account? I've only used credit cards for payments till now. I'm guessing I can use the debit card for the checking account. But what about the savings account? Thanks and reps.

Why does everyone thinks this is good deal? This will not work on fast foods like McDonalds. It clearly states in the fine print
The merchant must be classified as a restaurant for purposes of this offer to qualify.
I looked up my statements, McDonalds, Dunkin, Subway, they have merchant type = Fast Food while the likes of Chili's, Friday's will have merchant type = Restaurants. Going to Friday's to have a $16 burger + tax + tip = >$20 to get the $5 rebate is not a slickdeal
Thanks you saved me from getting wrecked at McDonald's. Agree with your $16 burger statement. Will not use

I checked my past orders from Doordash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats, and they were all categorized as restaurants under merchant type in the Chase app.
