Whether 100 years ago the materials used in a bike meant that the traditional, non-step-through frame was more rigid and light so preferable if you're wearing latex to ride has little relevance in 2023. Even in this cheap no frills bike the alloy will be far superior to anything 50+ years old.
Yes you could go faster and turn harder on a cervelo, but for the use case of a city e-bike I would go with a low standover frame. I am 6'3".

You do not want to be going at 20 mph on a lightweight bike with those narrrow road cruiser wheels. Even a tiny pebble will cause you to wipe out. Pay a few extra bucks now and save on the hospital bills later.
I don't get this. Don't road bikes have narrower wheels?

The only reason to care about the angle of the bar is that the flat bar is way easier to carry up and down stairs.

Not that this bike is worth the upgrade investment but the battery can be upgraded. Single speed means just that. Would be a decent starter ebike if you want to tote around locally with minimal effort.

In regards to expensive ebikes and not wanting to go anywhere the bike would be left unattended while locked, in major cities there seems to always be a scumbag that wants what you have. If it's a reference to a decent lock with an insurance disclaimer attached to it, read that insurance disclaimer. You'll see nearly every single lock sold with an "insurance" disclaimer attached is null and void by default. It only covers a failure of the lock itself by manufacturer defect and the lock itself must be presented to the manufacturer for review.
If $300 is disposable to you, buy a renters insurance if you do not already have house insurance. That will cover your precious electric bike if it's stolen in the city.

Lmfao, Jeff.

I'm sure you've never considered judgment a day in your life, especially in this society.

I'll be sure to wave when you pass by on your woman's bike, carefree.
I ride performance bikes, for which the standard diamond frame is advantageous. But if, when I'm older, I find it difficult to throw my leg over the frame, I will happily switch to a step-through design.

Women have often been riding diamond style frames and men have often been riding step-through frames for many decades. Why do people like you insist on holding onto sexist ideas from your great grandparents era?

I never understood this.
Makes more sense to have the angle on a Men's bike to protect the McNuggets.

I would speculate it's similar to how women used to ride sidesaddle on horses in the olden days, so that spectators would not see up a woman's skirt when she's getting on or off.
Or yea, cause the old dresses were so heavy or something.

I bought Kent Torpdeo ebike that has 250W motor too. I struggle when going uphill even on lowest gear and max assist power. I'm 140 lb. This bike also has 250W motor but it is Single speed. So don't buy this unless you don't have hill or you don't mind walking your bike everytime you go uphill.

This is truth. People are TD-ing because they cannot handle that truth.

Send your son to school with this bike and let me know how it works out for him.
Since this is the type of bike that a typical grandparent would ride, I could imagine that a kid would get razzed pretty good riding it.

Kids usually belong on BMX or mountain bikes.

I'd have thought that for the kind of people eager to be bullies over bike crossbars, this would make the straight bar the more effeminate one. Like using bags with convenient shoulder straps instead of just handles or whatever.

I'm really struggling on this one. Like, maybe a slanted bar makes kind of a v shape, like for vagina? Or maybe it's just people looking for any reason whatsoever to be minding other people's business in every imaginable way.

Why do you refuse to lock up your $7500 bike? Locks are pretty cheap insurance

I remember buying a CBR1000 new in 2009 for $6700, 7500 for ebike how sad times are now....
You are in the very thread discussing a <$300 ebike, but choosing to talk sh!t about $7,500 ebikes...unprovoked btw...

I have one of these through a previous deal - its a good little bike, sufficient power, not the fastest one, but works and is fun at the beach or on the trail (light duty - not heavy offroading).
