The internal batteries are lithium, they shouldn't require charging every two weeks, NOCO recommends every 6 months, but most users are reporting that they have to charge it every month. Then again, if the discharge rate is that quick, every two weeks isn't crazy, but that tells you the poor quality of the batteries. not to mention the super low capacity at 2150mah vs other brands.

i have one of these and struggle to start my cars right away. ive had a cheap lithium jump starter and a few lead acid starter boxes, they were all able to easily start my car with in moments of hooking them up. however my NOCO always gives me problems.

These are great little boxes if and only if you keep them regularly charged and at home (which is very inconvenient if you actually need them). If you live in a place like I do where it regularly gets over 100 degrees you cannot keep them in your car or garage. I've been through a few of them and each time the heat killed them. I've tried this exact one and a few different brands and if you forget them in the car, they're toast. But if you're like me and have a motorcycle or two that doesn't get ridden as often as it should you can't beat the size and portability. I still keep getting these because if you have a woot coupon the portability plus price make it okay. Plus noco sells attachment leads you can route to your battery box and plug this into them to jumpstart without having to disassemble your bike. Just leave them in a riding bag that's stored in your nice cool house and set a reminder on your phone to charge it every couple weeks. No one wants to be the guy that ruins a group ride or poker run after pulling up to a gas station and getting stuck there.

Go with the Gooloo GT1500 or the Gooloo GP2000. From what I've read, the Gooloo GP4000 has 4000 watts and is more likely to fry your starter.

Fry a starter hhahhahah. You don't know how electrical system or motors work...and I have as Gooloo GP2000 and it has been very good and would recommend it over this garbage being posted.

I bought this GooLoo GP2000 a couple weeks ago for about the same price but it claims 2000A.

I haven't used it yet but had a smaller GooLoo that worked great the few times I needed it (4 cyl) until the battery was completely dead and it did nothing, so I replaced it with this model that has a boost.

My opinion of Woot. 99% of the items are on sale because they are working but useless items. Returns are a pain as well.

There's no need to buy these lithium batteries. End run the entire charge issue and buy a capacitor charger that has no batteries. Brand name is Autowit on Amazon for $80.
Hear! Hear! Why mess with decaying batteries when a old school discharge capacitor will give more than enough bang for a start.

There are many other options with higher Amp and lower price like the BRPOM 3000A 238000mAh for $69 on Amazon

AZ resident here and mine has sat in my Jeep for over 4 years and no issues with heat killing it. I also rarely have the top on the Jeep.

I am very skeptical of these now. I have a different brand product and it won't start a regular car from a completely dead battery. In my experience, it only works with a battery that is just discharged enough not to work, but not not completely dead. After being burned once, I am very hesitant to throw in $75 to an offbrand product and risk getting burned again. Just saying.

I misspoke. I meant jump starting your car too often can fry your starter.

Repeated attempts to start a vehicle using batteries with a low state-of-charge can damage a starter motor."

I had the same problem so bought a unit with "boost," which is supposed to start a car with a completely dead battery. The reviews were positive so hopefully they do what they say.

How safe is it to store these in the trunk of your car (in the sun) in the summer heat of Houston, TX?

Couldn't cold start a V8 charger with 9.6v dead battery. Pack was storage charged, car charged to full, heated to around 90 degrees, and still didnt have the power.

A cheap, china made GooLoo box (that was half charged and cold), turned it over without hesitation. This things externals look nice and seem well built, internals are weak.

A sheep in wolfs clothing.

Its the gt4000. I got it for around 80 bucks. The AWD chargers are a wonderful vehicle, if you like cars, the AWD version will replace SUV's in snowy weather.
To be fair, the gooloo gt4000 is rated at 4000a vs this one rated at 1000a. If you got it for 80 bucks that's a great deal compared to this one but I can't find it currently for under $148.
This product probably compares to the Gooloo 1200amp products which are priced similarly at ~$80.
In general all these companies inflate specs quite a bit so a jump starter rated at 6L not being able to jump a 5.7L V8 even in ideal conditions isn't a huge surprise unfortunately.

I guess I'm just saying both this NOCO and the gooloos are both cheap china made battery packs currently priced around $75 and the real slick deal here is the 4000a one you got for $80.
Do me a favor next time you see the Gooloo 4000a for $80 post it to slickdeals so it will set off the new alert I made Smilie

These cost about $65 wholesale (in bulk direct from mfgr). So it's a pretty good price.

The Project Farm video seemed quite positive about Noco except for the price.

I have the bigger Noco gbx 155, I
Use it to start trucks, cars and often times construction equipment…it is bad to the bone….I rarely charge mine in between jumps and often times neglect it. It has not ever let me down. A buddy of mine bought same one and loves it…did I mention I'm in Minnesota where it's even harder to start vehicles?
This isn't a criticism of your gbx 155, and is only noted for reference, but it is also about 175% of the price of a typical, new, 12v AGM lead-acid car battery.

I have this exact one and a couple of their battery chargers. In fact I just used it to start my Ford F150 5.4L this morning with a completely dead battery. Been sitting in my yard all winter so battery is very dead. Had to go in to "force" mode because voltage was so low. Below freezing here too. Noco seems to be a really good brand. Everything is well made. This is pretty close to the deal I got last fall. Can recommend.
