I have these on the TVs mainly for mirroring the Quest 2 so everyone can play along with Among Us VR.
However keep in mind that if you use it for this purpose, ethernet is going to be your best bet. And to get ethernet on this, it takes a USB C hub WITH ethernet and WITH 20+ watt pass through charging.
This will smooth out all your streaming and casting, but it does create something of a mess behind the TV.
The processors are different. 4K runs 4x ARM Cortex-A55 @ 1.91 GHz and HD runs
4x ARM Cortex-A35 @ 1.2 GHz. 4K is faster, but that's not the whole picture. The HD's processor is newer and has AV1 codec support, which is more efficient than H265.
Looks the same as the one I bought a couple years ago. Do these ever get revisions, or is it always the same Chromecast?
I prefer Chromecast over Firestick. If I recall correctly, the UI of the Firestick made no sense. You'd think you're selecting one thing and select something else. Plus, I have Google Home and not Alexa.
My tv is pushed out a bit. You can see the back coming up the stairs. In my room my tv is wall mounted, i have all black cables coming down from it in a single line. All black cables.
White remotes get dirty faster than black.
Unless its nice hard plastic like xbox controller which somehow really repels dirt very good.
We do burn coal downstairs so theres that too. Dust.
Not necessarily. Some apps have very inefficient data caching. My YouTube app once had over 600MB in user cache because my brother was staying with me and we'd switch between Google accounts.
The Hulu app was also very bad at this on Android TV which is one of the technical reasons I cancelled my subscription.
Of course, you can clear app data to free up space but I'd argue that most users wouldn't even know what that means
The way I deal with this is that I use those apps on another device... such as one of my Amazon Fire devices, or one of my Roku devices.
Certainly not optimal, but that's what I do.
Thanks to SlickDeals, I have a lot of these things. 😂

Also white gets dirty quick.
So 2 reasons to make a black version.
How's it getting dirty? Live in a coal mine?
You're too much.
