Well its more about the 360hz. That is a monitor for competitive gaming.
360Hz.. I'm not super familiar with the science here, but isn't there a breaking point where the human eye can no longer distinguish between frames? I recall testing a while back where pro gamers blind tested 120hz vs 240hz and the conclusion was that there was very little practical difference. Then again, I'm not the target audience for these super high refresh rate monitors so what do I know /shrug

Would you?

Maybe see the displays in person instead of asking moot questions? Isn't there this isn't there that. Isn't it time you woke up & smelled some flowers? There is most definitely a difference between 120hz ->240hz in terms of fluidity & blurriness for IPS/TN panels

Stop parroting mainstream bs talking points to down-play technological innovation

lol just read your last sentence, you definitely need to stop posting, if you aren't the target aurience why are you even here? definitely a troll trying to look smart by regurgitating an outdated article
Wow.. you took the time to write a whole paragraph just to mock me. I feel so blessed.

The elitism and toxicity in the gaming community is astounding.

Hmm. 24" flat 16:9 1080p FOV vs 34"+ 1440p 21:9 curved FOV. Looks like the "competition" you people attend needs to get with the times.

Edit: Oh I forgot, GT 1030s can't handle a real monitor. Makes sense.
Wait until you hear what resolution many CSGO players use.

You have to know things to forget them so don't worry about that.

I want you to know, people aren't downvoting you because they disagree that there is a difference between 120hz to 240hz. People are downvoting you because you sound like a complete knob, the kind of person you ask "who invited them."

Wow, that was obnoxious. Personally, if you are going to spend that kind of money for the refresh rate, why bother with otherwise old specs? The size is like playing on little bigger than a laptop, and 1920 x 1080?
I will say I like the brightness. Always drives me nuts to have a dim screen especially since most games are set in dim dungeons, caves, etc, where you can't see already.

Just got the 240Hz, can't use my SteamDeck for 360Hz. Fyi Fighting Games can benefit greatly from higher refresh rates to decrease input latency eith combination of increased usb polling rates even if majority fighting games are locked 60fps with more and more titles allowing 120fps. SF6 >=]

Response time factors in, imo a 120hz monitor with fast response time looks better than a higher refresh rate with bad response time. I have a 240hz monitor with a decent response time and you can definitely tell a huge difference. I also still want more frames so yes, you can definitely tell the difference.

that's it? you poor thing

I have a 11700k and 3090 and run a similar Alienware but the G-SYNC model.

With your rig it's almost overkill for 1080p even 360hz.

A 360hz deal. You know the regurgitation police that have never touched anything above 60hz is going to come in full force.

Yes, you literally have to be blind if you can't tell the difference between 120 / 240 / 360.

those morons don't even get that higher refresh monitors coming into existence only means lesser monitors become cheaper and more available.

but then again, they are idiots after all.

Yeah was surprised to see some pro players gaming at like 800x600 or something ridiculously low, with the absolute lowest settings for graphics. (And NOT because their PCs can't handle it).

It's more about reduced input lag once you go above about 140fps, rather than visually appearing smoother. Faster response times are possible with higher refresh rate. There are diminishing returns once the refresh rate gets really high like this monitor, but for competitive gamers every last bit of performance helps. I'm not really a competitive gamer (mostly play single player games), so my 165hz 1440p monitor is more than enough for me.
