Still kind of confused why Samsung didn't include full size HDMI or DisplayPort inputs on it...

QD-OLED monitors were also available around the same time as the TV - depending on region. The Alienware AW3423DW came out in March 2022. Samsung's S95B came out in March-April.
Actually I was right.
"TV reviewer HDTVTest found that Alienware's monitor is only capable of reaching around 280 nits when showing an all-white screen, so it's possible that the Odyssey OLED G8 could face a similar issue."

With the LG OLED monitor I heard the brightness is nowhere close to that of a LG C2 TV but 240 Hz refresh rate is a nice thing for competitive gamers. LG monitors also use matte screen monitors while Samsung/Alienware have a near glossy monitor finish. It really depends on what care about the most, for me it's brightness so I steered clear of LG monitors

The Alienware monitor can definitely peak a lot higher than 280nits with HDR content. The 280 nit measure is from measuring a full white screen, where the monitor would automatically scale back the brightness.
Edit:
Regardless, it's not the point. I mentioned that there is a second generation panel. You said monitor tech is usually behind, which was an untrue statement. QD-LED panels were found on both monitors and TVs at around the same time. Will a Gen 2 panel monitor come out with a Gen 2 panel TV comes out? No idea, but it is very possible. That's all I'm pointing out - that this monitor - tech wise, is already a bit obsolete.
And am already feeling obsolete LOL
And yes that is what they were saying about micro LED just a few months ago
That it was not really possible yet but Samsung just was at CES with a 63 and a 50" TV.
These were modular too so the screen was made up of multiple matrixes just like the big wall displays
Even on the small 50" model
These were said to not be production models shown at CES but the biss is that they are not far off at all from consumer production of these TV's
by 2024 might be possible or 2025
They said the smaller micro LED TV'S looked like they were ready for production soon.
My G9 is 49 wide and they have a 50"
Diagonal TV made up of modular matrixes so it is not that much of a stretch to say on a year of two we will a micro LED 32:9 ultra wide, not sure about curveability of micro LED though
Or price
Interesting post 👍 also, what is going on with your spacing? (maybe it's an issue with the SD app)
I went with the 32" LG UltraGear 32GN50R Gaming Monitor on sale for $176.99. Resolution and frame rate are over-rated. They just try to up-sell you on stuff you don't need. How many of those pixels are you really looking at, it's just more pixels to burn out and things to break.

That said, the main hesitation for going into this deal (besides my aversion to Samsung's warranty...), is that Samsung themselves have already announced their next generation of QD-OLED. It feels silly to buy this (unless at a very deep discount) when it's new...and already obsolete.
You can say this about every piece of tech. Good luck on your wait.......

i use the i1displaypro and never have issues. Alot of people do not know what normal brightness is which is 120cd/m2 6500k warm
even my default settings the monitor is find. I do not run HDR so maybe that is the issue idk
either way this is the best monitor i have owned since owning a Sony/SGI G520K 21" CRT back in 2003 where CRT was at the peak levels of contrast/black levels
I suffered the past 19 years dealing with crap PC monitors when LCD/LED came about.
At least we had Plasma TVs,
