After doing a ton of research on this portable solar panels and I believe these are the same as the EcoFlow 2x100W Monocrystalline panels [amazon.com]that were on sale for $130-140 around Black Friday.

The specifications (100w 23% efficiency), 9 Bus Bar (9BB), size (38.6*23*1.2 Inch) , seems to match. the ecoflows.

I bought a set.

Not portable... But I bought the 6 pack of these in 2020 for $450, and have been running my tiny house off of them ever since. They're actually underrated. In perfect conditions I have touched 700w of input off 600w of rated panels.

Zero Complaints Whatsoever
These have MC4 cables, so the same ones as the provided solar charging cable on all ecoflows (MC4-XT60), so no modifications needed.
Lot of questions about solar here - definitely worth learning before you jump in. Go look at will prowse on YouTube, he's got an insane amount of really great content. Here's a link to a beginner diy setup.

where can you find 285W panels for roughly $75?! that sounds incredible...
I know someone else has answered but I picked up some from these guys a couple years ago.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/29453257...Swg~dhibUk

They had full output and looked brand new although I believe the ones I choose were about 4 years old. Craigslist is a good source if you just need a few. I wanted 10. Smilie

They work out to be .37/watt based on being 12 years old. For me it was well worth it.

I am planning to install DIY solar panel installation on my detached Gazebo in backyard.

I will be using a battery with solar panels and planning to keep it under the gazebo in a box to save it from water.

Question , is it safe to keep the battery outside? Specifically in Chicago weather? Anything I can do to protect the battery or any specific type of battery I should buy for this weather?
What are you doing with the power out there? There are insulated self warming batteries (at the cost of some watts) available but they're not exactly cheap. Worth it in the right scenario.

For demanding applications lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO 4) is the way to go but expensive. But also last thousands of charge cycles. Decisions, decisions.

Best battery to use in that condition is a plain Jane deep cycle lead acid battery. Lithium is not to be charged in freezing conditions, but lead acid is fine with it. In fact, you need to charge the LA to keep it from being discharged and turning to water. That would cause it to freeze.

Insulate your box but put in a very small vent to allow air to circulate. I mean like a vent the size of a nickel. Seal the rest. Use lithium grease on all the contacts to stop corrosion. Don't forget to top off the distilled water every year.
You can start with a boat battery box similar to this
https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-HM327...B004W5SG6Y

One thing - tape over the top vents or it will end up full of rainwater.

Will these solar panels work with Ecoflow River 2 Power Stations without any modifications to the Ecoflow solar cables?
They should, using an MC-4 -> XT-60 connector (check your stuff to be sure). I have a Delta 2 and had a River 2 Max and both could work with any solar panel within the rated voltage that came with MC4 connectors. Both have XT60 for solar input of varying voltages/wattages.

You can pick up used panels like that if you live somewhere like Arizona….unfortunately shipping is killer otherwise.
100% - this is a big part of why you don't see more solar in more areas like the midwest. I just had some big boy 455W panels shipped and even for just a single pallet it was $300 in freight. You need to buy in bulk for it to be worth it.

They are. Overall they are slightly larger than 3 of the 100 watt panels. They are 1/3 the price though. I guess the 100w panels might be good if you don't have the space but for me 100 watts wouldn't even come close to touching my power needs.Smilie

Those are going to be a joy to move- lol.

Incredulously, we actually have a solar company in my town in IN. Why -I don't know. They are selling the sun that can disappear here in winter for a week at a time.

Some guy I was watching on YouTub that had a zillion panels said he didn't use huge ones because if one was damaged somehow he'd lose a lot more watts that way. I guess he meant something doing impact damage to his roof.

Call me a skeptic but you are never going to get 700w from 600w of solar panels.
I have bought various 100w solar panels and once in a blue moon, I might just get a smidgen over 100w but to to get 700w from 600w is not possible.
I would love to see you prove me wrong. Take a take or anything.
