Using a card payment processor at 2.9% you'd be able to cycle $4,000 for $116 in fees - add the $69 card fee and you're at $185 for Companion Pass and 34,000 points, which is a solid deal for 11 months of pass.
I got the Priority card a little over a year ago. I was able to add the card to ApplePay before getting the physical card.
Once the card appears in your accounts in the Chase app
go to the card,
click Show More under Account Services
Click Digital Wallets
I was able to add the card to ApplePay. GPay and Paypal are also offered but I did not try to add those.
Hope this helps someone. It's possible they changed this since I did do it over a year ago.
Have done the CP many times. This looks like an easy way to get it. Too bad I have no desire to fly anymore.

Waiting on my business card, this gets in the way of earning companion pass with the full points for me. The points way will give you CP until the end of 2024.
Can you explain the process for CP with points? maybe worth it for the additional 10 months

Reach 135,000 points in a calendar year to qualify for CP that year and the next. Typical promotions offer 30k or 70k points when you spend $3k - $4k in the first 3 months of opening. You also get a 10k annual boost at the beginning of each calendar year. Then you get multipliers on points based on what tier card you have and what you spend on.
For Premier and Priority:
3X for Southwest purchases
2X on RR hotel and car rental partners
2X on internet, cable, phone, select streaming
1X on everyday
I opened a Priority card in December and I'm actually 2/3 of hitting CP.
I would recommend this card for frequent flyers that fly SWA exclusively (or plan to) and travel somewhat often with a partner. If you are debating on what tier to get, the Priority basically pays for itself.
Some people have or know someone with a small businesses or gigs they obtain a credit card terminal for. You charge your card and the bank funds the business account after deducting about 3%.
Seems a little risky and not really an option for the majority of people. I used to meet spend requirements for SUBs by opening bank accounts and funding them with the card. Chase has pretty much killed that.

Do you get the companion pass right away or is that the same as the 30k bonus points and you get both after spending 4k in purchases over the first 3 months?
I just called Chase support in regards to this promotion for existing card holders.
Unfortunately current card holders are out of luck and are not eligible for this promotion. We cannot get the 30k points or the companion pass.
It's a bummer since I just got my Priority card last December so it's fairly recent; on the bright side when you qualify for Companion Pass via points you get to keep it for the entire duration of 2023/2024.
I also asked if I would be eligible if I closed my current credit card and reopened it during the current promotion. This would not work as the promo requires a 12-month wait period between closing/opening accounts.
You don't have to wait 12 months if you close the account. You just can't have received a sign up promotion from a southwest card in the last 24 months.
I JUSTTTTTT got two SW cards to try to get companion this year. UGH.
You can still get CP the normal way. If you've already gotten the cards, the signup bonus you signed up for still applies. Getting CP the regular way will give it to you until the end of 2024, which is better than this offer.

As far as I'm aware I am not able to book two passengers through work.

Does this promo work if I use someone's SWA referral link?
Yes, the promo works using a referral link. They need to generate a new link with this offer.
