Using a card payment processor at 2.9% you'd be able to cycle $4,000 for $116 in fees - add the $69 card fee and you're at $185 for Companion Pass and 34,000 points, which is a solid deal for 11 months of pass.
I got the Priority card a little over a year ago. I was able to add the card to ApplePay before getting the physical card.
Once the card appears in your accounts in the Chase app
go to the card,
click Show More under Account Services
Click Digital Wallets
I was able to add the card to ApplePay. GPay and Paypal are also offered but I did not try to add those.
Hope this helps someone. It's possible they changed this since I did do it over a year ago.
Have done the CP many times. This looks like an easy way to get it. Too bad I have no desire to fly anymore.

Beside the yearly points at anniversary, the only real difference for me is the number of "early checkins". Most cards give you 2 per year and their high end card gives you 4.
Kinda disappointed to see this deal but not really...
Got my 2 cards(1 personal + 1 biz) in late Oct. Hit my spend Jan 1st and now have CP for all of 2023 AND 2024.
Nice kicker was I used my wifes referral link and the 20k pts she got qualified her for CP too but only for 2023...
Later,

At least you'll be able to use it for this year and next. I did similar thing in 2019 and earn companion pass for 2020 and 2021. Of course pandemic hit and we couldn't travel anywhere. Didn't even use it once. Still angry about it.
Just submitted for the $99 Premier card but got this message:

What can I do next to help them make a positive decision?
I Currently have a Southwest Airlines credit card that was opened 4 years ago. Instead of canceling that one and reapplying for this new promotion can I product change that existing Southwest Airlines credit card to a chase freedom?

They gave me a 3K Limit, when I did this in 2022.
Figure about 2 billing cycles to spend 4 K.
3rd billing cycle you should be activated for companion.
Is there a limit on the companion pass? If I apply for this card and then apply for the business Sw card in 2024, can I meet the requirements to get another companion pass in 3/2024 or do I have to wait until the end of 2024 or 2025 to be eligible for another companion pass?

Southwest cards have to remain as southwest. A friend of mine tried to do this recently and was told it wasn't possible so she canceled her card.

I doubt you will be able to downgrade to the Chase Freedom, Chase typically will not allow co-branded cards to be upgraded/downgraded to other lines. Doesn't hurt calling and trying. You may be able to downgrade your current card to the lowest annual fee SW card then apply for whichever other SW card.

There shouldn't be a limit on the companion pass, as far as I know, as long as you qualify for it in separate years, then they count towards each year individually.
I've learned that you can purchase $4k worth and let it hit your statement date to trigger the promotion, and then you can return what was purchased for a refund. You will still get all of the promotion.

Would suck if they went back and cancel your companion pass while you are on a trip and have to pay full price for the companion.
