I've tried too many times to use my fingers to scroll the browser and editor when I didn't realize I was using a macbook (other people's)
Been using touchscreen windows laptop since Windows XP Tablet version.

What's wrong with the screen tho? We won't see 100+ Hz in business laptops for a while (if ever). Other than that, pretty ok screen. They push hard for extra premium on their convertibles, so this price is compelling.
Macbook Pro has been offering 500 nits + P3 color coverage for a while. Higher models even feature mini-LED screens. Recently they bumped Macbook Air to the same spec.

You can count with one hand how many Windows consumer / standard business laptops at similar price points have such screens. Not to mention very few feature 100% sRGB or 72% NTSC, while most Windows laptops have crappy 45% NTSC.

I am not a designer by any means but there is no way I'll ever get a laptop with screen below 100% sRGB.

Give me a name for good support please
ASUS, HP, Acer, Gateway? Or Dell?
Apple. That doesn't help if someone needs a computer running Windows though.

I've had good experiences with Dell's customer service. My experience with their laptops hasn't been great but when I've needed customer service, it's been good for things they could address.

Intel provides top-notch support for their NUC line. Customer service actually understands English, and warranty replacement finishes within one week, with the option to do cross-shipping (get a new unit before sending bad one back)

IMHO - messed up naming scheme. Thinkpad and Yoga don't belong in a same product name.
No this actually makes sense, unlike when Lenovo released traditional clamshell (i.e. non-convertible) laptops as Yogas in other markets.

So so close , if only a better screen and an i7
A Core i7 would run slower and a lot hotter.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have the Intel version of this exact laptop from work. There's a major problem with the USB-C charging on these laptops. The laptop stopped charging within a year and the motherboard was replaced by Lenovo care. Last week the laptop stopped charging again and it's been 10 days Lenovo has been postponing the service due to delay in parts.

If you're buying this laptop, get extended warranty as there's a major problem with their usb c charging. Google for this problem and you'll see tons of folks having problems.

If you intend to use a stylus, yeah. Otherwise I think Windows isn't really touch oriented, despite some strides in the field.

Right. The Lenovo support doesn't really understand English. When I had trouble with my Android tablet, they sent me solutions for a Windows Laptop. It's a issue with them.

Other than the expired deals (e.g. Elitebook 865 with the same CPU), any deal in this price range ($850 or so) for a laptop like this Thinkpad deal with a Ryzen 7 Pro CPU (similar RAM), but a larger screen (ideally 16" or else 15.6")?

This has 100% sRGB and is priced below $1000. Not sure what your point is.

Is yours a Gen 2? I can only find reports of problems with the Gen 2. The one linked here is a Gen 3, so maybe that problem has been fixed?

300nit + 100% sRGB is still much lower than 500nits and P3 if you read carefully.

I get that. Are we really comparing MacBook Pro with this entry level business laptop? At least look at X series then…
