2022. It does say date first available May 24,2022. Also shows it in the pics in the description where it's comparing models.

While a somewhat capable tablet, this is definitely what I would consider only an above average budget option. This is spoken as somebody who owns this model and uses it every day. It's pretty much incapable of multitasking, so be ready to wait for any relatively heavy apps to have to cold start every time you switch to something else. It functions excellently as a drawing tablet and the S-Pen is very responsive and supports tilt and pressure sensitivity. If you're looking for a tablet that's good for light web browsing and entertainment, this fits the bill, but don't expect to be zooming back and forth between apps and getting anything close to as good of performance as you would find on even most modern budget smartphones.

Thanks OP. Just grabbed a gray one. Seems like a good deal. Was looking for an 8.4" but there's few options in that space.

How is the image quality when scrolling websites? I know it's not 120hz, but is it decent?

I had the first iteration of this tablet and thought it was great, good battery life and fast enough performance. The main feature though is definitely the pen, if you're not planning to use that there are probably better options out there.

Bought one for school and with the Samsung notes and the pen, it has been a very well worth purchase. The battery can last at least a day but with heavy use it will be about half a day.

If you are taking engineering or math courses it has been a time saver for note taking. It is still an average performing tablet and the screen isn't a modern one, but the S-Pen feature and focused as an "advanced notebook" is very helpful for class. One gripe I do have with this screen/S-pen use is that the pen will get inaccurate along the edges of the screen. Not sure if a defect or if an issue on all of them.

iPad. Unless you are an Android die hard, the only thing this tablet has going for it or the s-pen but you can always get the apple pencil later on. My daughter's gen 6 ipad ran about as good if not better than my tab 7fe and the 6 lite is wimpy on the specs compared to that.
