5000k is the highest color temperature you should ever go in headlights. (4200-4500 is better)

6500k is dangerous and stupid
Why? Genuine question. The closer to truer "white" light is superior for visibility vs more yellow / amber colors of light. Now, I realize these are advertised as "6500K" which should be blue....but I can promise you these lights are pure white light as I bought as set back in December. I think the claimed color temp should be taken with a grain of salt.

In large part because it poses a risk to other drivers: https://ww2.motorists.org/blog/le...nding-you/

You will still get blinded by other drivers if you replace your bulbs. And I'd bet you are likely to get blinded more as people high beam you because putting LED bulbs in a housing that wasn't meant for LED bulbs is exactly the problem of why you are being blinded by oncoming drivers. LED bulbs in factory halogen reflector housings just scatter light and blind oncoming drivers.

Any clue how these can be good long term? Every time I tried some highly rated LEDs like these FAHRENs for one of my cars, they fail miserably within a couple of years or less.
I bought some cheap ones and they are still kicking. Although the fans are loud af at times. Side note: I have a prius so when the motor cuts off, you just hear fans lol

I think I've had these close to three years now and have had zero issues with them other that people flashing their brights because they think I have my high beams on. When they do, I flash them with my crazy bright Fahren high beams to show them they're wrong.

One thing about buying led headlights, I recently bought some from eBay, they worked but cause an error message, then found out you can have a convertor adapter, DO NOT buy those, they are very dangerous and burned the plastic of thr containers in the headlights, these things are dangerous and recommend buying the one with error free

Making your lights brighter will not stop you from getting blinded by other cars, you will just start blinding others.

I can see that for those actual "blue" lights. While these may claim to be 6500K however from my experience and all the review pictures it is a pure white light. Just like flashlight lumens headlight color temps on Amazon seem to be full of exaggerations.

Any recommendations for a reliable set in the 4000K - 4500K range?

We're all getting blinded nowadays. It's anything from someone putting this into a halogen housing, an old Camry with high beams on because their halogen is too dim, a lifted brotruck, a lifted brotruck with aftermarket LED, any Toyota with new LED (and especially lifted 4Runners), Teslas, lots of Teslas, clapped out cars when the owner decides to put a bright ass 48inch LED bar in the front

Anyway point is it doesn't matter anymore, brace yourself because you're getting blinded if you drive at night. My cousin tinted his front windshield 70% and said it helped with the glare at night, but I'm not brave enough to try that yet

These are overpriced and there's no significant difference between the ones here and the ones on eBay which hover around $10 a pair.

Admittedly my thinking is that even if it breaks in a couple years you can throw that away and pop a new pair for another $10 and no regrets.

There are a couple of points out at his caution the first one is that the lights do tend to flicker depending on which canv bus signal ecm controller you have in your car. Please look at the reviews and you will understand a little more on what people are referring to, essentially the computer in the car that controls the lighting may not understand some of these lights and tend to flicker.

What I've discovered is that the four-sided lights are much more beneficial than the two-sided lights My links are being deleted here but you can find them on eBay essentially they come with four LEDs per light so you have better light distribution and more illumination.

Hope this helps somebody.

Lastly I used a headlight cleaner which got me a huge boost in brightness but it only lasted for a couple months.

Please don't use these. They do not cast light in the same way as halogen bulbs, and therefore they put out an incredible amount of light that isn't properly focused, resulting in other drivers being blinded and you not being able to see any better anyways.

Don't put LEDs in housings not designed for LEDs. Get brighter halogen bulbs (NOT XENON), get your headlight housings polished/restored or replaced as necessary.
